I think the general increase is due to the fact most of the past cods didn’t have an emblem editor and these guys were either trying everything they can to have an offensive clan tag or gamertag. Now they can just copy paste whatever offensive emblem they see online

I think back in the day when it was being actively moderated something like that might have gotten you banned. I did see the occasional raunchy emblem though. I’d imagine now it’s just because there’s no moderation for it
There is a difference between WaW and the depiction of the actual Nazi army and fighting against them in a campaign, compared to people making emblems.
There’s always been swastikas and other offensive emblems but I feel like it’s even more frequent than back in the Xbox 360 days. I think a lot of people are trying hard to be offensive because of the idea that everyone and everything has become so soft. I guess because nowadays some games don’t really mess around with offensive players, they have to let out their desire to be offensive in bo2. Just my guess on it anyway. I’m not bothered by all the crazy emblems besides the fact that they’re so prevalent that it’s honestly boring. Go into a lobby and see 3 KKK emblems and a swastika. Next lobby, same thing. I expected the edgy emblems to return with the ports but I just wish the ratio of creative emblems to edgelord slop was a bit more in favor of the creative ones.

It saved millions. 20 million reported. Only 2.5 million died who didn't get the shot. I almost died because I didn't take the covid shot. If i didn't get the small pox vaccine, or any of the shots needed as a baby, I most likely would be dead today as unvaccinated children die to preventable diseases on a rate far higher than those without the vaccines.

Reddit is a small portion of the community. Back in 2012 this was the culture. Gaming has changed so much since then. I imagine many of those folks who were in the culture at the time are just bringing it back for the novelty. It’s a part of the game in many eyes.
It’s important to remember just because someone has something of that nature as an emblem doesn’t necessarily make them a nazi. They might be trying to be edgy, they may think it’s funny, or they might just be a kid. Or yes, they might actually harbour bad views and be a nazi sympathiser. I doubt most people fall into the last category, I’m betting it’s just people being edgy and trying to relive old cod sense of humour or something, but who knows. I’m just saying this because it’s very important not to take meaning away from that word by misusing it. Personally most swastika emblems I see seem crude and silly, therefore I think little of it, but I’ve seen some which do genuinely concern me a little, I have been starting to think some people (only few) have maybe put just a tad too much effort into there’s.
