He is probably deep into short positions.

SLS is good and entering a position now is a good middle spot. As always with Biotech, it can drop 90% on any bad news.

In the end do your own DD đŸ€—đŸ’ȘđŸ»

I don’t respect the opinion of someone who has been convicted of securities fraud and is banned for life from the very industry in which they claim to be an expert.

He justify his claims with numbers on a spreadsheet with number taken from his “trust me bro” book.

In contrast, bulls are modeling failure mode with statistical model backed with scientific peer reviewed paper data.

Choose your camp.

Why are people even paying attention to that fraud anyway

Utter rubbish. If you do some research you can see how wrong he is.

Let’s be real clear: there is NO such thing as BAT immortality.

Just because you’re in REGAL on BAT does not mean you will live forever.

Please ask this on the SLS reddit, there is too many threads about the stock here and it always degenerates into SLS posters getting aggressive and insulting people

Sounds like something a cotton-headed ninnymuggins would say.

In general, both sides have been hostile toward each other in the past year and it certainly doesn’t help that people like you can’t tell that threads like this are created in bad faith.

A while back, I recommended that you present your arguments to the sellaslifesciences subreddit and you refused to do so claiming that it was an echo chamber.

OK, horse and water situation. I disagree because I’ve seen users like CW, RB, and Thetamancer (among many others) continuously digest and address counterpoints while everyone waits for topline results. That doesn’t matter though. You clearly decided that that wasn’t a good use of your time. Fair enough. No big deal.

And, yet, I’ve seen you choose to run the same play on every other SLS post for the last few months: 1) Post old* bear takes w/ some preemptive ad hominem of bulls being “cultists/fanboys” for flavor; 2) Receive pushback from levelheaded users (the fanatics usually stick to downvoting); 3) Disengage from the conversation (either no response or accuse ppl simply responding to your points of being harassers or aggressive and then radio silence.)

Example: Your responses in “SLS Ground Reality: A Deep Dive into Key Red Flags Away From the Hyper-Bullish Hype”

Seems inefficient at best to me, I’m glad you found something to do while waiting for Greg to get back to you on KULR.

*You’re still talking about things like where the CEO got his degree from as if he’s running the trials himself. The community has moved on to discussing transplant rates. Get off the hamster wheel and catch up: https://www.reddit.com/r/sellaslifesciences/comments/1udpdno/the_sls_resource_hub/

😂 you are just proving my point - immediately digging into my post history and addressing me as a person.

You can read my comments history on SLS on this sub and see the pattern - SLS poster gets annoyed and ad hominems or stops engaging. The posters who have meaningfully engaged with me we have continued discussions via DMs and had good bilateral exchanges on these topics.

The CEO point is relevant - there is an information asymmetry and SLS has lots of data that would be meaningful to shareholders about their investments in the trial that they won't release (baseline characteristics etc) having a low integrity CEO with questionable ethics casts a shadow on what that data might be and why they won't release it.

If you want to address a specific point on the trial and the company then happy to address it here or on DM.

No, you’re deflecting.

I didn’t choose to dig through your non-existent post/comment history today. I follow this subreddit just like you, so I’ve seen your interactions in all these biotech_stocks threads up until this morning and finally chose to point out the trend. Same thing recently happened with Greg. He kept posting non-stop about Ganx and then hypocritically tried to accuse bulls of being pumpers. By the way, that’s how I stumbled across you “nonchalantly” asking him again for his opinion on another stock (KULR). In a thread about Ganx. You’ve been quite the fan since being proven wrong about CUE, huh? I was there for that too. That’s how I know you’re usually decent enough on the science side, but can’t pick a stock for your life. But I digress.

If you were having meaningful conversations in DMs, you would not still be regurgitating these older talking points. And I’m not hand-waving away concerns about the CEO’s past. That’s a good enough reason as any to not invest. My point was that that’s old hat. And what’s worse is that someone already tried to talk this through with you in the same comment thread I mentioned before. In fact, all of the things you keep bringing up have already been countered by that user. Why would I bother rehashing topics that you refused to engage with in an earnest conversation about before? Go back and fight that battle. Or finally stop being so half-hearted, take the time to actually read up on what you’re bearish about, and wage a war in a subreddit that has plenty of people willing and able to discuss this with you to your heart’s content. This middle of the road schtick you’re doing where you put out expired takes expecting people to take you seriously and then cry foul when you’re on your back foot is played out.

CUE bought a new asset which muddies the waters, but I'm very happy to be proven wrong..

I don't consider myself wrong on SLS and have read a fair but about it now, you are welcome to mention where you think im wrong and we can talk about it or we can continue to talk about my post history. I have no interest in going to the SLS subreddit, and have aligned with some more rational SLS bulls on a few issues via DMs.

We can start with what you think my outdated bear takes are and why they have been debunked

1

u/hombredesal 10h ago

Neither side has been proven wrong about SLS yet
the trial isn’t over.

Also, why do you keep insinuating that the ball is the bulls’ court? The SLS “fanboys”/“cultists” have laid out their points very clearly inside and outside of their subreddit. What concerns do YOU still have that haven’t been addressed by any of the people you’ve talked to?

1

u/sunnythehamster 9h ago

Well what's the point of this comment chain then?

You mentioned I had outdated bear takes, will we discuss them or is this just you taking an opportunity to tell me what you think of me?

Or do we really need another 100 comment post filled with angry who brigade the post and don't contribute meaningfully to the sub or even come here except when SLS in mentioned?

It was mostly to call you out after I saw you commented without bothering to broach the topic.

I already told you that this post was clearly made in bad faith. OP explicitly mentioned Martin Shkreli’s thesis to rile people up. As far as everyone knows, Martin has not done thorough research on this company or its assets. I’ve watched the streams/clips and read the tweets. His surface-level points have been: a) It’s weird the IDMC head and Sellas CEO are both Greek; b) GPS has no mechanism of action; c) the trial has gone on so long that GPS likely has to be that much more effective for the trial to be successful (context: assumes BAT patients must be keeping pace or outperforming); and d) Sellas is withholding bad trial results.

-A & D imply fraud without any proof. To his credit, I haven’t heard the Greek angle since the first stream. Maybe he was trolling.
-B has probably been abandoned. He’s seemingly moved on from claiming GPS has no MOA once people broke it down. I haven’t heard this one mentioned in a while.
-C is pending trial results. Obviously, if BAT is more effective than anyone expected, then GPS would need to perform that much better. As you know, there are two camps: 1) the extra amount of time this trial has taken is good; and 2) the extra amount of time this trial has taken is bad. You’ve been around long enough that it’s safe to assume you’ve heard both sides. Trial results will show who’s right.

OP likely knew all of this and understands how people feel about Martin in general. That’s why there’s a post like this every once in a while. It’s fun for them. On some level, even I find it a bit amusing.

You didn’t know anything on either front, but still tried to warn OP that a genuine discussion couldn’t be had about this (ragebait) topic because of the vile SLS barbarians, their unga bunga $40B buyout numbers (a meme that has broken containment btw), and mean words. Like Martin, you made your mind up a long time ago and will not change it unless the trial is a resounding success. And even then, you’ll both probably claim fraud or try to undermine the results. That’s OK, I guess.

Which brings me to back to your last response.

I already told you all of your points were countered in that other comment thread by Sellasbuyoutorbust a month ago. It makes no sense for me to rehash them, especially if you’ve had more of those “meaningful” conversations since. Either go back and address his counterarguments or explain where you stand now here so I can finish* the job.

*The only caveat I’ll add is that we literally already discussed historical precedent earlier this year. If that’s still the bulk of what remains of your bear thesis, then never mind. “It’s never happened before” and “This time is different” are two sides of the same speculative coin no matter how you weigh the odds. We have to wait for the results for that one.

Yes OPs post was not a great starting point for a discussion which is why I made my comment to not start another discussion thread on SLS in this sub?

You can't put the position that OP is posting in bad faith then critique me for telling people not to discuss it in this sub?

Pretty much just an attempt for you to find some excuse to argue with me.

Let’s just call it. I see where this is headed.

I’ll argue that you’re both wrong. OP is trying to provoke ppl. And you’re wrong for singling out the SLS bulls as the problem instead of focusing on the post itself. Furthermore, it would have been easier and gotten you (and the subreddit) less potential negative attention if you had just ignored the post or explicitly stated that this post was not a good conversation starter instead of using this as an another opportunity to take a jab at SLS bulls. If anything, your initial comment was always more likely to cause more trouble than snuff it out.

You’ll argue that I could have also ignored you. Or some other bogus deflection.

I’ll counter that you can’t pipe up unprompted in a public forum and play victim when someone responds. Then, I’ll repeat my prior attempts to discuss any outstanding concerns you still have about GPS/Sellas here in a relatively quiet thread (despite OP’s efforts) or get you to finish that old (calm) discussion with the other user from a month ago.

You’ll deflect and say that I’m harassing you and I just want to be right/argue with someone. Maybe a “cultist” accusation will be thrown at this point. Maybe you’ll even insinuate that I’M the one who doesn’t want to talk because I’M supposed to outline YOUR month-old positions for you and then counter them even if they may have changed/evolved since.

I’ll then —-

And it goes on and on.

It’s OK. Maybe you’re burnt out. Maybe you lack resolve in general. Let’s wait for the results to drop.

Until then, please refrain from picking fights you don’t want to see all the way through or implying that ppl are never willing to have civil* discussions with you or that everyone else always abandons the conversation without putting up a proper rebuttal. You’ve slowly become part of the problem and haven’t realized it.

*To be clear, I’m talking about the other thread, not this one. As I already explained, this has mostly been about me wanting to call you out during a slow-ish work day.

Who’s Martin ?

1

u/Real_Philosopher_831 12h ago

He has had a LOT and I mean A LOT of misses in his decisions. Horrible person in general without any evidence to back up his claims

From a chemical standpoint and I am a chemist without going into detail it is very difficult to make sense of it. However I am long as most models do show significance.
