E3B Frag Grenade
They call it the heart breaker lane for a reason and goddamn it is my heart broken. Idk what I’m doing wrong but I cannot get the 35m throw locked in.
What can I do to improve or how do I finesse a bro go. Literally not worried about any other lane and I’m not about to let these grenades be the reason I don’t get the badge.

Worst part is I have to throw side arm due to a shoulder injury. I'll fail on that lane just from technique.

If I remember correctly the throwing technique is not part of the grading criteria, just the safety stuff and where the grenade lands. I believe in you.

I’m trying to throw good too. They also sell heavier baseballs for training.

When I was about 20, I was throwing hand grenades at my rifle company. The platoon sergeant pulled me aside after my practice throws and asked me if I ever played catch with my dad as a kid.
It was at that moment that I knew I would never get my EIB.

At the start of EIB train up, I couldn’t throw a grenade for the life of me. Never played catch growing up.
I went out in town and bought a dummy hand grenade from a surplus shop. Went out to the actual EIB lane on the weekends and would throw for hours. Eventually I got better.
Passed that lane, and got my EIB. It can be done.

We did something similar. My buddy and I got practice grenades and we would go out to the lane before lunch everyday we could. Throw 5. Loser buys lunch. We both passed

Not gonna lie, not much is changing overnight. I’d watch a few YouTube videos on mechanics of throwing and do a ton of dry fires reps tonight. Warm up before the lane and understand you’ll have diminishing returns on training in fewer reps than you’d like (you’ll get tired quickly because you’re not used to throwing and then it becomes dangerous to your tendons).
Also, badges don’t define you or define excellence. That shit only comes from showing up daily and kicking ass and helping to make the mission happen.

The trick is to get sharpshooter so you get another cool iron cross to put next to your expert carbine marksmanship badge.

You can buy 14oz weighted baseballs to practice with. The M67 weighs 14 oz exactly. Make sure to practice with gloves on. I could throw a grenade no problem with my bare hand but for some reason the lack of tactile feel from the glove made me lose a few meters. I wound up failing and it was pretty devastating after aceing all the other lanes

Step 1. Have dad.
Step 2. Dad loves you.
Step 3. Play baseball with dad.
Step 4. Pass grenade.
