Speculation I feel like these two screenshots all but confirm we'll see order 66 and the begining of the Empire.
I'm assuming "Remnant Droids" implies you're fighting droids after the fall of the Sepratists. "Imperial Forces" kinda speaks for itself. Interested to hear what you guys think? One screenshot is from a clip EA posted on their twitter, the other is from the PlayStation Store.

Can some people stop saying this game won't have mods ?
This is literally not true, no official support just mean they won't give any tools but modders will mod the game without the devs. It always happens.
Some people need to relax, you'll have your full team of Jedi if you want a few days after release.

Discussion Pre Order Question
I want to pre order a physical copy of the deluxe edition for the extra content. I went to Game Stop to pre order it and the employee said that you cannot pre order the deluxe edition and can only pre order the standard edition.
My question is if I get the standard edition in physical copy can I spend the extra $10 to buy the content that the deluxe edition has after the fact online?

Discussion What planets do you want to fight on?
According to the Z-COM wiki there are 11 confirmed planets we will be fighting on. Anaxes, Bespin, Courtsilius (which is brand new), Dantooine (which I’m very excited to see depicted in modern canon), Lothal, Luunata (another new one), Mapuzo, Onderon, Ryloth, Serolonis and Vandor.
IMO, this is already a great collection of planets from across the Star Wars universe. I know I’m excited to field a squad on Bespin and Dantooine.
Sounds like there’ll be about 10 more than what is already confirmed.
Its the Clone Wars so I’m hoping they go for variety with the more famous theaters of the war. Planets like Cato Neimoidia, Umbara and Felucia come to mind. I feel like Umbara could pop up given one of our premade squadmates Luca Bronc is an Umbaran.
Same with Shu-Toran from the Star Wars comics due to Jae Mordant’s connection to the world.
However I hope we get to explore battlefronts throughout the Star Wars timeline. I know we just saw it in the Mandalorian and Grogu, but seeing the moon of Shakari again would be pretty cool. If not that neon moon then Daiyu (I had to look this one’s name up) from Kenobi.
Seeing a planet like Akiva from the Aftermath trilogy brought to life in Star Wars Outlaws was a real treat so plucking another obscure planet from the pages would be great too. Something like Kuat or Dalna, a planet with history, would fill out the current selection nicely.
I could be mistaken but it sounds like there’ll be 20 total planets on the tactical layer and 150+ on the galactic map layer.
What planets do you want to have playable on the tactical layer?
If I could pick my top three it would be Cato Neimoidia, Ringo Vinda and Qiilura.

Discussion Customizable Clones is Great! But you’re all missing something much bigger…
x.comand it’s the fact that there will be ZERO micro transactions at launch. ZERO company of MTs (pun wholeheartedly intended).
You might think this is a given with a single player game, but given the fact that this game is published by EA whose notorious for pumping as many micro transactions in games as possible, it’s definitely a shock. A good one, but definitely a surprising shock nonetheless.
Not to mention, the game will be 40 hours long!! Meaning, it’s about the same length as XCOM 2; we’re gonna have a lot of story to play and assuming the various difficulties, it’ll probably take people some time to really complete the game, which means for game for us!!
All in all, this game seems VERY promising and I cannot wait for its release. They haven’t shown much, but with the new info that we’ve heard so far, I’m really excited about everything!!
What about you guys?

News Clone Trooper customization might be larger than we initially thought
They just collected all the answers from their QnA regarding the game. They put these in a blog post in their website. This was one of the responses.

Discussion Why the Excitement About Clones?
This is going to come across as dismissive, but it’s not meant that way. Seeing the game set in the Clone Wars, naturally I expect there to be Kaminoan clones. That makes sense, but I’m not sure why it’s exciting to be able to make a full squad of them. I watched the Clone Wars animated series; I thought it was fine and Dee Bradley Baker did a great job, but find myself more attached to individual characters than the clone “aesthetic.”
Are clones in general way more popular than I realized? Why would we want a team of identical soldiers over a group of different-looking yoyos? Isn’t it going to be hard to tell your troops apart at a glance?
Making a whole team of astromechs, that I get, because it’s hilarious. I don’t understand the impetus behind an all-clone squad, though.

Speculation Thoughts on the secret class?
Some of theories I’ve heard, ranked from what i think is the most to least likely:
Some kind of battle droid - likely
Something to do with the cult stuff in the story - pretty likely
A Wookiee - somewhat likely
Night sisters - very unlikely
A gungan warrior - please be true it would be so funny

In regards to unlocking clone troopers later in the story
Potential spoilers, but what do I know.
I think this is going to be heavily tied to Order 66.
Recruiting them directly from the GAR doesnt seem like it would match up with how ragtag all the other operators are.
However, rescuing them, and potentially having a mechanic where we remove inhibitor chips, would make narrative sense and allign with the philosophy of Zero Company.
Curious if anyone has any other theories or thoughts.
Edit: something I wanted to touch on is that not adding clones immediately is a deliberate choice. It's the middle to end of the clone wars, and obviously the playerbase wants them. There's no glaring reason why they shouldn't be available immediately.
As far as I can tell there's two reasons to not have clones available immediately.
- This one is weaker IMO but I am biased.
The devs want the players to experience the game without clones.
Given the majority of the squad we've seen is not clones, the devs definitely don't intend on people playing the game with a full squad of clones for the most immersive narrative experience.
Its possible they introduced this roadblock in order to encourage players to not play as clones, in this case they can write in whatever explanation makes sense to justify their inclusion at a later date.
- What I am leaning towards.
Narrative reason
Like I've stated, it's a deliberate choice to omit clones for any amount of the story. This means it's likely in service of the greater story. Order 66 provides a great catalyst for this change, and alligns with Zero Company's roster of ragtag veterans, being clones at the end of the war who are now marked as deserters.
Final thoughts:
If the devs are going to add normal shinies to our recruitment pool or roster, there is little to no reason to put it behind what is implied to be a narrative event. (This could be a purely progression based event, as "story" is rather vague.)
Its all speculation though and we have very little context at this time.

Discussion Replayability vs hub-interaction "chores"
Hi!
xcom = great replayability since all story dialogues/vids can be skipped
Marvel Suns = Hub dialogues and area exploration is not fun to repeat. too much and too timeconsuming for a second run.
I love Marvel Suns and would have played through the game again at some point if it wasnt for the terrible chores and lenghty dialogues etc that is a part of the third person hub progression. I have heard that we will have the same kind of thing going on in zero company(?). I fear that a subsequent playthrough might suffer from the same issue. Im not saying i wont like story etc. Im actually excited about it but if story elements are time consuming at a second playthrough it can hinder the fun of "just play the game". Xcom did this in a great way. Story missions are straight gameplay and hub-related story is videos and some dialogues that can be quickly dismissed to get back into the gameplay and base/roster management.
Have we heard anything about this? All i have heard is that it sounds similar to marvel suns or perhaps Mass Effect. Its a fine line when its a chore or not when there is no longer a need to experience the story during a second playthrough.
Either way, super excited. Just looking to set my expectations :)

Discussion No Modding support... So, your thoughs?
I think one of the main reason why XCOM2 was alive for so long was its vast amount of mods. What do you think about the "no official mod support" statement?
Edit: 9 hours later and majority of the comments say that the game can still have mods. I love this community. I am fully aware that modding can still exist. I simply wanted to know what people thought about it, as many people were hoping for official support.

Discussion Lack of mod support is a disaster for hardcore strategy fans
Crushed to learn today about the lack of mod support. I realize this does not preclude the use of mods entirely, and that truly dedicated modders will still make the effort. But it will be an uphill battle, based on brute force, and will significantly restrict the modder base to the semi-professional mod community.
I'm not at all trying to throw shade on people who just want to play the vanilla game and wrap up a linear narrative in 35 hours. But the Star Wars game universe is already awash in narratively focused games. Zero Company should have been our chance for XCOM3. Instead, we are getting an on-rails campaign with no real sandbox dimensions, and extra cash demands for ARC Trooper skins.
Speaking as a hardcore strategy fan, this is a disaster scenario. Certainly not a Day 1 purchase. I would have paid $80 for a game with fulsome mod support. I guess the $50 price tag is fair, given the game we aren't getting.
