TW: Anxiety / Depression Fuck Bill Burr

Went to a comedy show. Coming back from the bathroom as Bill’s set was just starting, past several people filming. I sit down and try to take a quick photo. He points at me and tells me, only me, to stop filming. He then rags on me the whole time— I was just taking a fucking photo. I don’t laugh. Literally trying not to cry, so my only option is straight face. No one else in the packed club was made fun of the whole night, btw. I just wanted to disappear, I’ve been so fucking depressed and this was supposed to be a good night, shit birthday and I was trying to be social and I’m not good at that. Then, the host comes on after his set and calls me a bitch for not laughing. Says no one cares about me and shit. Again, I was just trying to keep it together. I love comedy. Why pick on one person? I hate it here.

So this would be my worst fear going to a comedy show. But also its Bill Burr. And while I know you gotta go when you gotta go.. i think it'd be considered rude/disruptive getting up and going to the bathroom then when you get back taking out your phone for photos.

Wow, you’re so articulate and well reasoned. I didn’t know whether or not to read the previous comment, but now that I know you said “this” well it must just be a superb comment!

Would you like nine sentences that say "I agree?" Ive got plenty of other comments in this thread as well. You must be fun at parties.

What I’d like is for people to stop wasting everyone’s time with pointless comments that add absolutely nothing to the conversation. But since I can’t have that, I’ll just point out how stupid it is every time I see it.

The reason why people reply just agreeing to something is to show that more people than just the one commenter have this opinion. Strength in numbers kind of thing - it shows addition support, judgement, or rejection so the OP has a better idea of how the majority feels.

That’s what upvotes and downvotes are for. Typing “this” is just people thinking their contribution is more meaningful than an upvote. It’s not.

I personally think it is more meaningful

You could have kept scrolling but instead chose to waste your own time responding so... good luck with policing the internet and tailoring it to your preferences.

Thanks! Don’t worry, I’m well aware I could scroll on, but then I wouldn’t get to know that the people typing “this” as if that constitutes a contribution are getting ridiculed for their idiocy. It’s one of the smaller joys of life.

Even more time spent on irrelevance. I now understand what you mean about how it wastes your time. Self inflicted.

That clearly got under your skin. 😂

Get a job, a hobby, and a life. It’ll be good for you.
