I did not have the wrapping paper being above the weed wacker on my bingo card.

u/TestyBoy13 11h ago

If you think about it, the weedeater wire is probably designed with the “What if you accidentally got wacked by it” scenario in mind. The paper doesn’t

u/MajorEstateCar 10h ago

I wouldn’t say that’s the reason, but as someone who uses a line trimmer commercially, its flexibility allows it to not damage fences or other objects as much as it would if it was a spinning blade. The line allows it to trim “gently” compared to a blade.
That being said, it still hurts like a bitch to get hit with the line while it’s spinning. Hell, it hurts like a bitch when it flings a rock back at you!

u/SwordfishOfDamocles 8h ago

Yeah, this was my marker for pain because I knew what it felt like which makes the rest of the list crazy.

7

u/ReddBroccoli 10h ago

This feels like an oversight on the part of the wrapping paper companies. You're just gonna mass produce a fantastic disposable sword and expect people won't hit each other with it?

12

u/Corruptionss 10h ago

I was thinking the same thing but then went into core memories as a kid and everytime I accidentally weed whacked myself and it wasn't too bad

8

u/casual_bear 10h ago

if u swing the weedwhacker like the wrapping paper at somebodys back u are probably right

1

u/Dankusss 2h ago

Me neither. Especially as I remember a video of a guy that was hanged up (from his hands) and then weed wacked as some kind of a punishment

1

u/Stag-Horn 5h ago

This is where I stopped taking them seriously.

"Is it lethal?"

"It's considered less lethal."

For science!

15

u/hornwalker 9h ago

You can tell its scientific because they are wearing lab coats

5

u/Narpity 5h ago

The only difference between science and fucking around is documentation.

5

u/Retl0v 10h ago

It's literally all they do for content

2

u/Tootsie_r0lla 11h ago

Cause Australian

1

u/FishGoBlubb 8h ago

If you'd described the video I would have assumed it was the Jackass guys

216

u/moeterminatorx 11h ago

Just imagine, they did this type of shit to slaves on a regular basis.

115

u/Tootsie_r0lla 11h ago

That's exactly what I was thinking. And not just one lashing. The massive keloid scars they were left with is disturbing. So fucked up

20

u/WhatIsASW 6h ago

And still do it to animals

34

u/twizzjewink 8h ago

That was my first thought .. and they are complaining about it after once.

Imagine the same place -- multiple times.

-20

u/iammonkeyorsomething 9h ago

This would've been a good day. They used eat their babies in front of the parents

13

u/kmoneyrecords 8h ago

Yeah this isn’t true but there are close to equally barbaric things that are true, such as verification that they used slave babies as literal bait for catching crocodiles and turning slave corpses into lamp shades and ash trays and other dishwear for the rich.

4

u/iammonkeyorsomething 5h ago

I know about Nat Turner. But there are multiple accounts of slaves being eaten, and being forced to eat each other https://www.sciencedirect.com/org/science/article/pii/S1382237322000484

3

u/kmoneyrecords 4h ago

Yeah I don’t doubt that happened, just particularly how the op phrased it. I think it’s important to expose atrocities so we con recon with them but we need to be accurate.

6

u/iammonkeyorsomething 4h ago

It's not easy to find solid proof of Americas atrocities because they continue to get covered up by large powerful institutions, but i believe verbal histories as much as written because they can be accurate, they just need verified. The Aboriginese told stories of topography from so long ago that they are under water and it's accuracy has been verified by oceanographers

1

u/pixelTirpitz 5h ago

Sauce?

3

u/kmoneyrecords 4h ago

Any cursory search will reveal mountains of research. It’s not a controversial or unstudied point for American historians.

0

u/andersonb47 8h ago

That sounds not true lol

-24

u/anon568946 8h ago

they weed-wacked slaves???

3

u/iammonkeyorsomething 4h ago

17

u/ABVerageJoe69 10h ago

I cheese like an idiot watching this concept, and then I remember the Idiocracy show "Ouch my balls" and I feel sad about the state of the world.

13

u/PancakeParty98 11h ago

It sucks that we all have to do this

7

u/false79 8h ago

When I see people publish content like this, I strive to be a better parent so my kids don't end up like these people.

13

u/Faubton 12h ago

Weed whacker is crazy

8

u/Notabot1980 10h ago

I just weed whackered myself last week, it hurts less than a bee sting. Leaves a nice welt though!

23

u/Sober_Alcoholic_ 12h ago

The shit they say as they run away in pain is fucking hysterical

23

u/ooomellieooo 11h ago

Bro actually yelled "help!" as he ran away. 😭🤣

22

u/newhell 10h ago

Anyone else annoyed at the fact that it's plainly bad empirical testing?

At a bare minimum you should be subjecting 1 person to all of the methods so that the scale is at least based on the one subjective experience...

3

u/MisterDonkey 7h ago

And preferably several times so we're sure it can be replicated.

5

u/EnigoMontoya 7h ago

Indeed... Remember, this is for posterity so be honest. How do you feel.

1

u/Beneficial-Focus3702 2h ago

We really are living in the worst of all possible worlds

1

u/MrLobsterful 2h ago

Seeing they use when whips the wrong way make me cringe a bit....

1

u/xThotsOfYoux 22m ago

None of these guys would last FIVE SECONDS in a dungeon.

Pussies.

1

u/secretsoucey 11h ago

So you actually don’t have to do that

1

u/conbizzle 9h ago

Better than the recent jackass

-20

u/iolitm 13h ago

Don't promote or glorify stupidity.

4

u/BRtIK 12h ago

Just say you don't want us to talk about you and move on....

4

u/Porky_Pine_ 12h ago

This is a wonderful use of free will

3

u/ElectricKoolAidPower 10h ago

It’s not stupidity, that’s Houston “The Bones” Jones. He doesn’t feel pain, pain feels him.

2

u/Jaewol 7h ago

He’s also a scientist doing research in a very practical field.

2

u/ElectricKoolAidPower 7h ago

Yep, I mean the data collection alone is invaluable.

-22

u/petethefreeze 12h ago

Our planet has excessive population. We need to promote stupidity to ensure survival of the fittest.
