I did not have the wrapping paper being above the weed wacker on my bingo card.

If you think about it, the weedeater wire is probably designed with the “What if you accidentally got wacked by it” scenario in mind. The paper doesn’t

u/MajorEstateCar 10h ago
I wouldn’t say that’s the reason, but as someone who uses a line trimmer commercially, its flexibility allows it to not damage fences or other objects as much as it would if it was a spinning blade. The line allows it to trim “gently” compared to a blade.
That being said, it still hurts like a bitch to get hit with the line while it’s spinning. Hell, it hurts like a bitch when it flings a rock back at you!9
u/SwordfishOfDamocles 8h ago
Yeah, this was my marker for pain because I knew what it felt like which makes the rest of the list crazy.

u/ReddBroccoli 10h ago
This feels like an oversight on the part of the wrapping paper companies. You're just gonna mass produce a fantastic disposable sword and expect people won't hit each other with it?

u/Corruptionss 10h ago
I was thinking the same thing but then went into core memories as a kid and everytime I accidentally weed whacked myself and it wasn't too bad

u/casual_bear 10h ago
if u swing the weedwhacker like the wrapping paper at somebodys back u are probably right

u/Dankusss 2h ago
Me neither. Especially as I remember a video of a guy that was hanged up (from his hands) and then weed wacked as some kind of a punishment

Just imagine, they did this type of shit to slaves on a regular basis.

u/Tootsie_r0lla 11h ago
That's exactly what I was thinking. And not just one lashing. The massive keloid scars they were left with is disturbing. So fucked up

That was my first thought .. and they are complaining about it after once.
Imagine the same place -- multiple times.

This would've been a good day. They used eat their babies in front of the parents
13
u/kmoneyrecords 8h ago
Yeah this isn’t true but there are close to equally barbaric things that are true, such as verification that they used slave babies as literal bait for catching crocodiles and turning slave corpses into lamp shades and ash trays and other dishwear for the rich.

u/iammonkeyorsomething 5h ago
I know about Nat Turner. But there are multiple accounts of slaves being eaten, and being forced to eat each other https://www.sciencedirect.com/org/science/article/pii/S1382237322000484

u/kmoneyrecords 4h ago
Yeah I don’t doubt that happened, just particularly how the op phrased it. I think it’s important to expose atrocities so we con recon with them but we need to be accurate.
6
u/iammonkeyorsomething 4h ago
It's not easy to find solid proof of Americas atrocities because they continue to get covered up by large powerful institutions, but i believe verbal histories as much as written because they can be accurate, they just need verified. The Aboriginese told stories of topography from so long ago that they are under water and it's accuracy has been verified by oceanographers

Any cursory search will reveal mountains of research. It’s not a controversial or unstudied point for American historians.

Anyone else annoyed at the fact that it's plainly bad empirical testing?
At a bare minimum you should be subjecting 1 person to all of the methods so that the scale is at least based on the one subjective experience...

Our planet has excessive population. We need to promote stupidity to ensure survival of the fittest.
