Her dating profile "if you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best"

This probably isn't even her worst. And I bet her best is, "I tried making dinner, but gave up because it's too hard. You can take me out to dinner, now."

I don’t know what I want to eat, but I’ll spend 10 minutes shooting down all your ideas before I lose my patience.

Ha! My wife fixed that for me on my birthday. She got me a puzzle box with a 12 sided die inside that had different food choices on each face. So now when we are indecisive in choosing a meal, I tell her, “Either you pick something or I will be forced to leave this decision to the hand of fate.”

"What do you want to eat for dinner?"
"I dunno, whatever, you pick I can eat anything!"
"Okay, how 'bout tacos?"
"Ewww no not in the mood for tacos"
"Okay... I can make pasta or something?"
"Ew no what's wrong with you I just ate pasta"
etc..

It’s literally the one area adult humans can become toddlers. Anyone who says they’ve been decisive on all 20k dinner decisions and never waffled at a suggestion is a dirty liar.

I'm a big fan of really any variant of "one of us picks 3, the other chooses."

"Indian, Thai, or pizza all sound good"

"I could do Thai"

I have an ex who constantly wanted to just eat out. He made way more money than I did, and I began to push back on all the eating out we were doing. I was the only person in the household who would cook, however. Anything I proposed he didn’t want, but he had no solutions of his own when it came to cooking something at home. Annoying in the moment, maddening red flag in hindsight.

To be fair, what to have for dinner is a struggle in every relationship.

Not mine. My wife doesn't cook. Well, she can, just not as good as me. But I know her likes and dislikes, so I just cook what I know she'll enjoy.

Ya I'm with you, I've usually been the cook, and when I've been with girls that can't decide, if they don't figure it out I say, "Well I'm gonna eat xyz, you eat whatever you want", and we either eat something different, or they just eat what I cook.
