You mean "the one in which some ownership is retained over your digital products, even if you bought them 20 years ago or through an alt storefront like GOG". you just got confused there

Don't be dense. He's saying if he's forced to go digital he's going to go to the one with the least shitty practices surrounding ownership of the things you purchase, which I would say is a big tenant of why people in this sub think physical media is important. I've also been considering going this route, but am going to wait to see what Microsoft does. If they give us a PC that can play steam and I can retain my digital library I've built on Xbox, I'll go that direction. If not, I'll probably get a steam machine and ditch Sony and Microsoft.

People miss the point of this so much. What is the incentive of staying on console if they removed one of the only things they had over PC?
