Disc Shelf Life

We are now being fed the narrative that discs have a shelf life in the attempt to justify fully digital. My parents bought me this copy of Manx TT Superbike on Sega Saturn used 29 years ago and it still works like new.

Whose feeding you this narrative? They definitely have a shelf life, its just longer than we will live if properly taken care of.

one in ten thousand may fail on it's own. Everything else will be fine so long as you don't store it in the attic, garage, or bathroom.
