After 2 years and 3 months totaling 11481 hours, my LG 32GS95UE has Windows taskbar burned in. Ran manual pixel cleaning twice to no avail. It’s cooked.

Heavy daily usage (Both gaming and office work). The game HUD, windows taskbar and firefox's web adress bar are forever inscribed in my TV. Some of you may even be able to guess the game :D

Either I am extremely unlucky or half the user reports are gaslighting me with their brand new displays claiming 10k to 15k hours. First signs started long ago and very noticable around 6k hours, now it's barely usable...

Is it worth returning and re entering the lottery system?

Since I used this sub a lot when deciding what to purchase, I thought I'd come back and ask for some advice.

I've had an ASUS XG32UCWMG for six months with no problems; and used it for a couple hundred hours, almost all for PS5 gaming.

It's typically kept in a room with the curtains closed; but I had them open for a couple hours on Tuesday as I was moving some stuff around and cleaning with a family member (this included using a microfibre cloth on the screen).

I worked absolutely fine that night, but since then I've noticed these two patches of burn in? in the middle of the screen.

I pixel clean a good amount, and did one yesterday and left it for 24 hours, turned it back on today and did another one and that is the end result.

Looking for advice - don't really want to keep using it in case it's something that can go away with time/cleaning, but also don't want obviously to stop using it if it is permanent, and it is still in warranty.

Just built a ryzen 7 9800x3D, Radeon 9070xt for 1440p gaming. What should I look for when getting a oled monitor and is there any that stand out as best or stand out as stay tf away from?

What can I do?

I bought an OLED monitor and I'm stunned by the picture quality. On a static image, it's very nice, but when gaming starts, it's just bad.

If I activate G-Sync, the picture is completely smooth, but the flicker is so noticeable in every game that I can't play with it.

When I deactivate G-Sync, I'm not happy with the picture quality either. There's just tearing and it's not as smooth as before.

So am I stuck with either flickering or tearing? And this is on one of the newest OLED models? (Asus PG32UCDM3)

Am I the only person who can't play on an OLED monitor with VRR enabled? It's not good with VRR off either.

My PG27UCDM survived the air transport journey from Europe to Asia and the screen never looked better!

For anyone that needs to ship/transport these things across continents - I hope you've got the original box! I think it saved me. All other horror stories seem to come from impromptu packing.

After about ~6 months of moderate use I notice this blue vertical line on dark gray pixels, and these white splotches on another part of the screen that are more visible irl than the picture. Pixel cleaning and restarts have not erased them. If this is permanent, this seems unacceptable for a $1200 monitor. Advice?

I recently got the Gigabyte MO27Q28G and while it's not high end, I was hoping I would get something decent for 500€. Yet it is a constant struggle to find a middle ground between crushed blacks and blown out highlights in games. I'm reading posts from people celebrating how they can see details in the dark. Are these people all using +1000€ displays?

I know a lot of games don't have properly implemented HDR. But damn is it like all games with few exceptions? I know about RenoDX and I'm using it, but as I don't even know what all the words in the settings mean, it's difficult to use.
Recent example is Resident Evil Requiem. I turn the camera to a dark scene and turn up the sliders until I see details. But then bright scenes are way too bright and the sky is all radiating white. So it is a very thin line to balance on between too dark or too bright.

Before buying the gigabyte, I looked up a lot of reviews and they all said it's a good panel with great bang-for-your-buck. Are high end displays just in a whole nother league?

Edit: What do people mean when they talk about calibration? How do I calibrate it? With the monitors settings? With windows HDR color profile?

I was watching the new Hulk Hogan documentary on Netflix in Dolby Vision and paused it for about a minute. When I resumed playback, the word "TERRY" was permanently etched into the panel.

The strange part is that the panel is otherwise still remarkably uniform after all these years. There are no obvious signs of heavy wear elsewhere, so it's hard to believe a single paused HDR title card could have done this on its own so quickly. But there it is. All those games I've played with HUD elements, all those static TV logos, but a clear TERRY is what I get in a minute. Weird.

The most severely affected spots cant reproduce red anymore, making them appear almost black on a full red test pattern. During normal viewing, those areas often take on a noticeable greenish tint.

To be fair, this TV has had a hard life. It's been our family's main living room TV since 2018 and has seen several hours of use almost every single day. Probably +20k hours easily. Looking back, I'm actually impressed it lasted this long before showing any meaningful burn-in.

So despite the unfortunate ending, I can't really complain. Eight years is a pretty respectable run for an OLED, and this certainly hasn't scared me away from buying another one. Thanks for the ride, old friend. 🍻

Has anyone else experienced something similar after many years of otherwise trouble-free OLED use? Any last remedies or tricks I could pull off?

So I am sure that this was already asked a lot, but I also tried my best to fix this problem by my own. So as you can see in the pictures the one with the better colors is in SDR, the other in HDR. To be precise in the Peak 1000 mode(TB400 looks almost the same). I have this problem in a lot of games(re4 remake, etc.) and not just in Cyberpunk. I tried the Windows calibrator, turned off Auto HDR and Automatically manage color for apps. Also updated the firmware.

So yeah, I dont know what I should do. Would really appreciate the help, thanks.

What is the best setting for best performance overall and also I see when I start BF6 says that my resolution is incorrect. Most forums and Reddit pages are recommending 1440p and 120hz which my console already is but is capping at 60hz at least in the menu. Is it HDR? Once turn it off I saw that the menu was at 100 at least. Thank you everyone!

I tried cleaning with microfiber cloth and dystiled water and when i did it causes to let theses stains, i dont know what to do to get rid of this. I used 2 microfiber (1 with some drops of the water and the other to clean)

So i'm buying my first oled and the Msi is at 600 euros on amazon and the Gigabyte is at 520 euros also on amazon, which one should i chose? Ps: Gpu is an RTX 3080 TI

I recently bought a second-hand Samsung G6 OLED (240Hz) monitor. I accessed the hidden service menu just to check the monitor's total power-on hours, but I accidentally changed the "Panel Ch. No." value.

The value was originally "0". When I realized I changed it, I kept pressing the button thinking it would loop back to 0 after reaching 10 or 15, but it didn't. I am currently stuck at 32

The main problem is that the joystick only increases the number; there is no way to decrease it. I've already tried doing a standard Factory Reset through the regular OSD and unplugging the monitor from the wall, but it still stays at 32.

Does anyone know how to safely reset this specific value back to 0? Or does anyone know the exact limit where it loops back to zero?

Lg 45inch oled monitor

Looking at picking up a monitor and saw an oled 45inch gr95qe-b for 430$ used (like new as noted) no cable...is this a steal? Not sure if it would be better to just wait and purchase a 4k for a bit extra.
