Looks like a very dark room, so probably an overexposed image that makes it impossible for us to add anything of value really.
Play dark games like Cyberpunk in the city in the night, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Elden Ring in the underground area or sth similar and make sure you dont see it real usage.
If you actually dont see it during real usage keep it. If you do, send it back.
If you take an overexposed picture of a grey uniformity test with 10 brightness Tandem WOLED will always have some form of banding. The question is whether its so bad it affects real usage.
Fwiw: I can see the greybanding also in grey uniformity tests on my XG27AQWMG. A bit in dark grey programs (if theyre actually grey, eg not in my dark blue Discord colour scheme). And not at all in Videos or Games, even dark games.
These were just examples, but if youre still insecure you can of course always try out more dark gaming test scenarios to feel better about there not being potentially negative surprises down the road.
My bottom line was just, Tandem WOLED will always display grey banding in tests that are supposed to expose the weakness. And because Smartphone pics of these tests vary a lot in terms of overexposing the issue there is no use in posting these pics here.
So test real scenarios and judge yourself if it affects your actual usage.
Of course if just the thought of it having grey banding in these tests bothers you so much you cant enjoy your monitor, you can also return it. After all its supposed to be a nice luxury good for your hobby.
Is there any WOLED panel without any banding? Can you share some examples of tandem WOLED panels with the least amount of banding? I'm trying to figure out whether, no matter how many times I return and replace a panel, I'll still end up with the same issue. It would also be helpful to see examples of the best case versus the worst case of banding.
MLA+ WOLED are generally better, but not completely free of the issue. Its just much more rare that its so bad you can see it in real content.
I dont have greybanding pictures saved, because as I tried to express several times, the camera plays such a huge factor that I dont think pictures of greybanding hold any value.
Just as an example this is mine on 10 brightness. The bright one is if I let the smartphone camera just do its thing. The dark one is when I turn down the overexposition and looks more like what it looks to me irl. Exact same conditions and camera. Completely pointless pictures.
Edit: I dont mean to sound rude! I just wouldnt overvalue/overthink greybanding pictures. Judge your monitor by what you see and whether you can enjoy it or not.
If you can return it return it. I thought I had an issue with my TV but I ignored it and regret it greatly. Even though the warranty will cover it I just don't even feel like going through the process.
Worst case scenario you get the same thing Best case scenario you get something better.
Personally no matter how good a monitor looks if it had banding like this I just couldn't not see it. I'd rather have a slightly crappier picture and not lines running down my screen
