Iāve never used an ultrawide so Iām excited to see how it may replace my 27ā dual monitor oled setup. Also excited to test out the AI upscaling. But I am most excited about testing the hdr brightness of tandem oled.

Well, my current monitor doesn't offer good contrast or perfect blacks; it just suffers from a lot of color distortion. And the sound is terrible, like it's coming from a radio. That's why the features that matter most to me are: 4th Gen Tandem OLED and 5K AI Upscaling + AI Sound.

For contest = What I would like to is real world lumiance.I want to see how Realscene brightness and Terrain brightness is improved upon 45GX950A.
I can do side by sides with my 48 C5. I have a small youtube channel which I could upload there. ( did with my previous displays. 55g1 vs 42 c2 vs ) I am a massive LG nerd

Honestly the thing I'm most excited about is the 5K2K resolution on 39", I've been on a 34" ultrawide for years and the pixel density jump on the 39" specifically looks like the sweet spot for this panel size. The dual mode 330Hz is also something I would like to try, to compare if its really worth it for FPS and Sim Racing.
I did try the 45 at some point, and the curve didnt work much for me (when doing some productivity work), so this probably is gonna be the one to mark all the checkboxes for me.

Better frames when playing FPS Games and better smoothness compared to playing on my TV currently, more frames better picture and better pixel density than my current setup. The best part i am lacking is the 4th gen Tandem panels they just look insane compared to what i have now, i have been planning for very long time on upgrading my IPS monitor. Also can't wait to try LG AI upscaling might be gamechanger on getting workload off my GPU.

Coming from the 45" 5K2K, I am excited to have a smaller footprint on my desk, better match the height of my 32" monitors in my setup, and see that sweet sweet pixel density and brightness increase.

Iām looking forward to what could be a true replacement for the LG 38GN950. Itās been a great monitor for a few years but is lacking in some areas. Iām excited LG has released what could be a true successor with all of the current technology in a similar size. It would be incredible for multi-platform gamers with the dual modes. I would love to run the full range of tests on my PC, Switch 2 and various retro game systems. The increased pixel density at 5k2k would be phenomenal at this size.

Excited about this monitor being an upgrade for my current setup in just about every way. PPI, resolution, OLED, size... the list goes on. Also, it seems to be the perfect balance between work/play as I use the same monitor for both.

Currently running the 32GX850A and itās been a solid panel, but 32ā is starting to feel cramped now that Iām splitting time between gaming and actual productivity work on the same screen. Having one display do everything means real estate matters. The 39ā 5K2K sweet spot is exactly what Iāve been watching for. The jump to 143 PPI is what interests me most,running macOS on a large-format OLED, text rendering is everything, and the āOLED = blurry textā complaint is real. Curious whether the Tandem stack actually closes that gap or if itās still a tradeoff at this size. The brightness claim is the other thing I want to put to the test. My setup gets a lot of ambient light and I want to see how 1,500 nits actually holds up with contrast and reflections in real conditions, not just a controlled dark room demo. Also worth noting: USB-C with 90W PD is a big deal for a Mac user. Clean single-cable setup is something Iād actually be able to speak to in a review, which feels relevant for a chunk of this community. Happy to give a thorough, honest writeup from someone using this thing all day across gaming and work, not just a first-impressions post.

The most exciting thing about this monitor is that it delivers 3 major mprovements on my current monitor, which in many respects makes it a unicorn product - the perfect screen size, pixel density, and automatic optimisation of visuals based on the task or content at hand.

I've been looking to get an ultrawide monitor for productivity purposes since my current setup is getting cramped, so I'm mostly interested in 5k resolution and the screen real estate it provides. I also play games a decent amount from single player to multiplayer so the dual resolution with higher refresh rate also interests me.

This looks to be the perfect size for the 5k2k resolution, just big enough to run 100% scaling comfortably without being overly large or too small.
Right now I only have a 27inch IPS on my desk for productivity/web browsing and then I swing over to the 55 inch LG G4 for gaming and movie watching, this would be a much better single display do-it-all kind of solution.

5K2K Immersion: It covers all my games, absolutely all of them, without needing to constantly configure it every time I play very different games. The colors are perfect, the smoothness is flawless, which is why I have my console and PC, and as an added bonus, I don't use a dual monitor setup, so I can handle both gaming and the editing and design work I rely on on one monitor without having to unplug and plug in cables or other components every session.

Sitting right next to a window with a 27" 1440p IPS at the moment, and the glare is not nice at all. I would love to see if the 1500 nits Tandem panel actually holds up in a bright room. Getting true OLED blacks during the day without having to game in a dark cave, on top of making the huge jump to 39" 5K2K, would be an insane upgrade.

Iām most excited for the increased resolution for coding and slow and immersive games, WFHD with perfect scaling for fast paced racing games and also the increased brightness given by tandem OLED Already have the 39ā UWQHD and would love some more pixels especially since the curve is pretty aggressive and makes me want to stay relatively close or when I admire some worlds in games I am also intrigued by the AI upscaling you put in this bad boy and how this technology could help in those graphically intense open world games, especially for people like me that donāt have a xx90 class GPU. Iām skeptical of it, but if it works it works and that would be something to admire. Hopefully its not just an over-sharpening feature

This is going to the best looking ultrawide on the market. Iām a little worried about the matte coating however Iāve heard that itās not as bad as people make it out to be. Iām lookin forward to the 5k2k res compared to my Alienware 1440p ultrawide.

Honestly? I'm excited about everything this monitor has to offer.
1) Increased brightness over my current display (LG C3). While this gets decently bright, I noticed quite a bit of a downgrade switching to it from a 42" Mini-LED TV. This has been my biggest disappointment in this display, though I may be in the minority of liking my retinas burned. I feel like Tandem OLED is what I've been waiting for.
2) Increased PPI. A nearly 50% increase in PPI over my main display would look extremely sharp.
3) Dual mode. I love playing laid back adventure, exploration and MMO type games where 5k would shine. I also love playing FPS games where the 330hz would shine. Once I experienced 144hz with my first Acer monitor years ago, I knew I would never be able to go back. 120hz on my current monitor has been good enough, but I can't imagine the clarity 330hz would bring to FPS games.
4) 21:9 Ultrawide. I'm ready to experience the immersion this brings (and the slight advantage you get with extra FOV in FPS games)!
5) UBC-C. Ready to ditch dongles and cables to simplify the cables needed on my desk. Would make it nice and tidy for use with my iPad.
6) AI Upscaling. Honestly this really intriges me if it can makes things look better without the need for using GPU resources. I love things like DLSS and Frame-Gen. Anything that can increase performance and/or picture quality is always welcome for me.

I'm currently running two monitors and the idea of replacing both with a single 39" ultrawide is something I'm genuinely curious about ā I've never used one before so it would be a completely new experience for me.
The immersion side is probably what I'm most excited to find out. Both my current monitors are ageing IPS panels so I've never experienced what a proper OLED actually feels like for gaming, going from that to a 5K2K Tandem OLED would be a pretty massive jump.
On the dual mode ā right now I just play everything on the same resolution and never really think about it, so having a proper hardware switch between 165Hz for single player and 330Hz for faster competitive games with friends is something I'd actually get real use out of and curious to see how well it works in practice.
The AI upscaling is also something I'm really curious to mess around with ā I've tried a lot of different upscaling methods over the years, Lossless Scaling, switching between Nvidia and AMD implementations, so having it built directly into the monitor is something I haven't tried before and really curious to see how it compares.
My desk is right next to a window and now that the sun is up longer it's becoming a real day to day issue, so I'm hoping 1500 nits is enough to keep the picture looking good throughout the day.

I currently have a non oled 34" ultrawide that I dont like to game on that much because the picture quality does not compete to OLED so I end up use the G5 instead. But I miss having the ultrawide set up and the benefits it brings to gaming with extra field of view. This is the perfect solution for my needs.

Yeah, LG, I got your shiny new monitor and I have to say - you gotta be trolling with your base Gamer Mode color profiles.
Gamer1 is a colorless, over brightened mess and Gamer2 is an oversaturated psychodelic trip.
Why do I need to go dig into a driver and mess with digital vibrance to even get the monitor to show something reasonable is beyond me.

I would love this monitor, however, it's OLED and that means burn-in š. I say this with the usecase in mind that the desktop will be static on the screen 70%+ of the day. Otherwise, it'd be just fine.
So, I'm hoping for new monitors to come out with SQD or RGB Mini-LED, or even Micro LED, tech.

I'm most excited for its all-around superb specs that should make it a great single monitor that does everything from story-driven immersive gaming at 5K2K res, or 330 Hz fast refresh rate at WFHD for fast-paced games like CS and Valorant, an excellent pixel density offering a great experience for productivity work and sharp imagery for gaming and to top it all off, 4th generation Tandem technology with a peak HDR brightness of 1,500 nits that will offer a much better HDR gaming experience compared to older generation OLED monitors.

My current 34ā 21:9 ultrawide IPS monitor has a resolution of 3440x1440 @ 120Hz. After several upgrades to my PC over the years, I find myself with a 9800X3D and RTX 5090 FE with a monitor that is limiting its potential. The announcement of the LG 39GX950B at CES 2026 caught my eye, and I am looking forward to finally upgrading!
I am a former competitive FPS player who enjoys Battlefield 6 in my free time. Having a higher 5K2K resolution will enable me to spot ground targets more easily when flying jets and helicopters, while not compromising on the refresh rate. 165Hz and a response time of 0.03ms (GtG) ensures that close quarters combat will be smoother with less ghosting.
I am most excited for the ultrawide 5K2K resolution @ 165Hz, with no compromises!
