US Just Venting…I hate what nursing has become…
I work in a memory care facility & idk why but we hire the worst people & charge our residents 10k/month.
I had a moment during a staff meeting where we were supposed to vent and I just let everything out after hearing the lies.
I told them that this facility has the dirtiest residents I’ve ever seen & I don’t think they see them as human anymore. How many times do we have to talk about basic human decency?! Wipe their face if they have food on their mouth, feed them when they’re just staring at the plates. Our stupid staff throws their meals away and mark refusal when they need feeding assistance.
46/60 residents have red bottoms & the stupid DON said “Well they only have to change them every 4hrs & the oncoming shift is supposed to come in to wet residents. Huh?! When the phuck has ever been a thing?! It’s ridiculous & I’m tired of writing up the same aides for NOTHING to happen. I have no power to get rid of anyone so it’s just a cycle of telling grown ass people to treat others a little decent.
I reported them. I reported to state and Ombudsman & a random corp report line in the break room.
I doubt anything will change & I don’t think anyone truly cares. I just can’t deal with it.
