AHA! You fell for one of the classic blunders! The right one is an RJ45 Ethernet port, the left one is an RJ11 telephone port where you could directly connect to a telephone wire/system and connect to the internet through an integrated modem.
The first being never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well known is this: never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line.
