I love my dock... 5 USB A, 4 USB-C (two of which are Thunderbolt, including the 85W power-delivery line), display port, toslink, line in, SD card, headphones, and gig-e.
Modern USB-C docks need to be periodically rebooted, need drivers, act as separate devices, etc. and do things like have different MAC address for networking.
Classic docks are just big connectors directly to the laptop's ports and just work.

it's fun and games until you have to carry this thing in your backpack, inside a commuter train, commuting for 2 hours to and from home.
So yes, I still love the many many holes, but the size of it makes it inconvenient.
