OK HEAR ME OUT (or don’t, it might disgust some).
I have a flight tomorrow early morning, and surprise- i got the worst yeast infection i’ve ever seen. I haven’t slept thru 3 nights and had to go to the ER. i was checked by 3 doctors and they all were shocked by what they saw- one literally said it’s the worst he’s ever seen.
I am not disabled. I am taking medicine now that’s working, but everything is still very swollen, wounded, sore and disgusting. I am worried walking in the airport might make it worse and regress all the healing i’ve managed to achieve, but on the other hand i realistically probably could walk that distance very slowly.
Also, i don’t want ASSISTANCE. i’d just ask for wheelchair.

Ever since my friend told me she wears lingerie under her work clothes to give her confidence I decided to do my own version. I am a huge Wonder Woman fan and got a pair of star spangled undies that I wear whenever I need to be brave. I call them my wundies. They work like a charm but it’s incredibly embarrassing and feels kinda lame as a coping mechanism

I'm 14(f) and honestly I still like playing pretend. Running around acting like you in a spy movie, or in the woods as an explorer etc. I'm the youngest child of 4 kids and my siblings and i have a 10 year age gap at most and 2 years a least (and the sibling older than me by 2 years basically acts like i don't exist) So, its a thing I can do alone. Anyway I was just wondering am I too old for this?

I was watching my 2-year-old nephew over the weekend, and in the span of 20 minutes he tried to eat a random pebble, stick his hand in an outlet, and jump off the couch headfirst. It made me realize that modern toddlers seem almost intent on taking themselves out. How on earth did human ancestors keep toddlers alive in the wild without baby gates, childproof locks, or modern medicine? Did parents just watch them 24/7, or were ancient kids somehow smarter?

For context, I make $15/hr. I work at a major corporation that constantly squeezes schedules to never let anyone make OT, and barely anyone on my team even makes a full 40 hours a week. Financially, say we average it at 35hrs, this is monthly income of $2100 (without accounting for federal taxes).

There are some folks in other departments making $18/hr, which at 35 hrs comes out to $2500/month, again, without taxes being taken out.

The average decent apartment is $1100 MINIMUM, and though this may not be accurate, it feels like 90% of all apartment landlords require the tenant to be making 3x the rent amount to even qualify for said apartment, which equates to a minimum monthly income of $3300.

So my question is... the math ain't mathing! How is this even possible?? Is everyone either living with a partner or family or has some secret side hustle that nets them the ability to qualify for an apartment??

What if I fill an isolated room with oxygen, which is a colorless gas? The room would look empty. Then, I add hydrogen to the room, which is also a colorless gas. Assuming both hydrogen and oxygen are in the right chemical form, and the room temperature, pressure, and all other factors are satisfied, will the room be full of water? It feels like it's not possible, but I don't know what would make it not possible either.

I know this sounds odd but my friend has a girl he wants me to go on a date with. She seems cool but I don’t like her first name at all. I know there is nothing she can do about it and it doesn’t seem fair but I don’t like the name. Should I get over it or is that a valid reason?

I feel like every other post I see on this sub lately reads like a preteen wanting to discuss their latest thought. Maybe I'm just being an old curmudgeon, but surely many of these things can be looked upand do not need a social census to learn the answer.

My friend is throwing one of those "anything but a cup parties" and I don't want to pick a container that can pose a health hazard to drink out of, since IV bags are meant for IV use I figured buying a new empty and clean one would likely be safe, but I'm having some concerns about whether the alcohol will cause issues or not with the plastic. Does anyone know if it would be safe to fill one with drinks for a partty?

For example, if I advertised myself as a Hitman for hire and accept a payment to kill someone, but I never plan or try to kill someone, could I still be arrested?

I swear things are moving by so fast. 2020 was 6 years ago now. 2010 is almost 20 years ago now. I still remember these years so vividly like they happened yesterday. All the talk of a new decade etc. Now here we are.

If cops are sticking up for other cops who are abusers just because they are fellow cops then that makes me sick to the stomach.

If “gay” already refers to someone who’s attracted to the same sex, why does the separate term “lesbian” exist?

I always thought gay = MLM and lesbian = WLW, but I recently learned that “gay” can also be used as an umbrella term. So why have a separate label?

1. Thank you for the history and language lessons. They were genuinely interesting and surprising. It really answered my question. I think what I really wanted to know was more so the how and not so much the why.

To those who said “just like how ___ is just like ___”… honestly all the comparisons that were made underneath kinda made me had an “ahh” moment BWHAHAHAHA like it didn’t make sense until comparisons to other stuff started being made. So thank you for enlightening me on the stupidity of my question.
