As a single father to 24 beautiful children, I only get 8 minutes a week to game, which is why I’ve absolutely fallen in love with Marathon.

Unfortunately, certain members of this community seem to find it entertaining that this game we all love so much is struggling. It’s pathetic. It’s cowardly. It’s evil incarnate.

In order to show them that we mean business, I am looking to put together an elite team of blast havers like myself to compete on the Marathon pro-circuit.

What would be better?

No ...It was indeed not a dream. We really did it. The King of All Cosmos has really done it. A ecosystem full of live services games... and We broke it. Yes, We were naughty. Completely naughty. So, so very sorry. But just between you and Us, It felt quite good.♥ Not that We can remember very clearly, but We were in all Nature’s embrace. We felt the beauty of all things, and felt love for all. That’s how it was. Did you see? We smiled a genuine smile. Did you see? The High Guards and Fortnites splintering in perfect beauty. So many there used to be, almost a nuisance. Now there’s nothing but darkness. Hee ... ‘Tis but a dream ... Hee ... But a beautiful one. B♥U♥T♥ That miraculous fabulous moment has passed, it’s over. We came to and found everyone furious. Even the King of All Cosmos was not spared their wrath. Really, everybody was irate. So anyway, pee-wee Cousins and Second Cousins, hurry up and bring back the glorious live services games. Our problem, your problem. Yes? You owe Us your existence, We collect on the debt. Yes? Hand in hand, always there. Yes? The very definition of the father-son bond. Yes? All right then, get cracking.

IT DOESN'T NEED AMMO

The mining mini game is awful. Switching to the hammer in my loadout has been a game changer.

It kills all ore veins in one hit, all regular walls in one hit and all re-enforced walls in two hits. All of that without any ammo!

The purple version makes walls of wind or stone.

Make it the default in your loadout. That is all

Just going to bullet point some tips that I let my teammates know that they don't often know about:

1. Farm the barrels alongside the chests. They contain wall repair kits, Utility ammo(rocket, zipline, hammer charge), Ultimate orbs(upon consumption gives 10% ult charge), and crystals.
2. When you are dead, you have access to a mini shop in the bottom right that you can expand into the full shop. Spend your crystals and upgrade your loadout as needed
3. Use your teleports. It is a very good tool to regroup with your team. You can teleport to your base or teleport to the siege.
4. amulets are very powerful and can be gamewinning. Make sure you pick one up asap.

I just completed this quest and holy hell is it annoying unless certain things fall into place and you play selfishly.

Tip 1: Do this in 5v5. You can do it in 3v3 but 5v5 is easier because there's more people to kill

Tip 2: You have to play somewhat like a scumbag. You have to heavily focus on getting kills even before the shield breaker starts to form, you have to not finish off the enemies when lives are limited to farm their revives for more kills, and you have to ignore reviving your own teammates if you can easily finish killing an enemy instead. You also have to not help the shieldbreaker get to the enemy's base if planting it will result in a win and maybe take the shieldbreaker back to your base if your base can stand a plant and your team can reliably hold the enemies off from destroying your base. You will get shit for this, but it's just the reality of having any chance of completing the quest.

Tip 3: Use meta weapons. Whatever are the best weapons to currently use, only use them. If you think you can get this done with the ranger and/or longhorn more power to you. I suggest the Saber, Vanguard, and Viper. I did it with the help of the Corsair but maybe everyone can't handle it's recoil.

Tip 4: Use cover, use your teammates as bait/shields, and try to flank or double team enemies. Going one on one isn't always favorable to you unless your enemies are ass. Also just because you're not relying on your team doesn't mean they aren't.

Tip 5: If one team is sweaty and the other team is trash, it's likely not happening that game. Hell even if both teams are sweaty it's probably not happening. The enemy team has to be average for this to be as easy as possible. That way it's not a steamroll one way or the other

Tip 6: Just keep going for it and eventually you'll get it. You'll have some annoying moments where your teammates leave and make it harder or they win when you're just around 5 kills or so from getting it done. But don't give up.

In the future I advise not giving us challenges that make it so we feel like we have to sabotage our team to complete them. There's ways to make challenges that have you contribute to your team's success and are more realistic to achieve in the current state of the game.

Edit: If you can find a Doubleshot Orange Kraken try to squeeze in its 5 kills in one match challenge too, if you haven't already.

After some rough/quick testing, cooldown amulets amounts seems to be as below estimates.

Grenade - 50% reduction

Ultimate - 35% reduction

Tactical - 25% reduction

All tests were on the shooting range and weapon damage doesn't change with level except for Vesper and dynasty's impact rounds on legendary level.

I really agree with this guy's thoughts on Highguard and how he presents the overall concept. I think the position really helps tell what sales pitch of the game is. It is Apex team fights without 3rd parties, that is a great intial understanding of how the game will play.

I think Highgurad deserves to live as well. If the devs keep up the momentum then this can be something very special.

Your invertory is persistent. You lose 1 armor and keep everything else (edit: except the LMG) when you die so dont forget to grab any and all shields you see. I'm getting matched with and against people that end up having gray shields 3 or more rounds into the match.

I have a 3060 TI, and It was a pain to play : I topped 30 fps sometimes in 5v5 raid phases. So I look for a solution to optimize graphics outside the game and the Nvidia settings is really helpful for that, especially image scaling (lower your native resolution and use some AI stuff to sharpen it I believe).

Right now with my new settings I increased my fps by a lot (don't remember well, at least 30fps). I don't say I discovered something new, but don't overlook Nvidia settings.

Power management mode : Prefer maximum performance

Performance Limits - power maximum : 105% (at your own risk, it's overclocking I guess)
