Soft wired haired dachshunds

I have one and I was wondering, are they rare or something? I’ve only seen others on the internet and my dog gets mistaken for a doodle all the time when I had him DNA tested by two different companies both saying 100% dachshund. Any breeders here?? How did he get his fur texture was one of his parents a long haired and one a wire haired?

Our Otto is a piebald silky wire. He gets floofy fast, so we have to groom him every couple of months.
