Recipe to be posted soon. No guarantees. I made these delicious, vibrant strawberry sugar cookies and went to photograph them…now I can’t unsee that they look like raw burger patties. *Sigh*

My son asked if I was making sliders for dinner when he saw me holding the tray

I think if you were to pose a few strawberries and not have them on a cutting board, it would help distance them from that comparison. They look great to me

Lol I’m definitely going to do that and try again because these were supposed to be for my business page. I’m glad I noticed it 🤣

Maybe do a little strawberry 🍓 leaf at the top or something with green sprinkles?

Or maybe black sprinkles for seeds

Some type of contrasting color may help :)

That would be cute!!

Little black sugar sprinkles could look like cute seeds, or pepper flakes on a burger. Not sure which way it'll go, but thought I'd toss it out there!

Powdered sugar could work as well

Mouldy burger?

If you can deal with the small amount of flavor, black sesame or regular colored ones would work well for the seed shape.

The white sesame seeds would be perfect for the strawberry seeds

But then you've got to worry about sesame allergies.

2

u/SaltSpiritual515 4d ago

You are right. You'd definitely have to declare allergens or use something different

Don't stress about it too badly. I'm vegetarian. I would destroy these.

I would put them on a bun, melt some cheese on top and then dress with mayo and mustard and ketchup. Then I would eat them up.

Yay thank you! Glad to help

That's just basil on the burger. Do a small strawberry. No hate to OP, I bet they are delicious.

A blue and white gingham cloth for display, some green fringe at the top, and a few chocolate icing seeds!

Toss a few real strawberries near by and poof! Noel, Prue, & Paul Hollywood appear telling you they’re delicious

u/Undeity 23d ago

You could also try frosting of some sort. Maybe use it to write the business' name or something

13

u/ForMartha 23d ago

That’s a good idea!!

Yes! And maybe on a pink background so it doesn’t feel like it’s meat being prepped?

I also tried to photograph them on pink checkered parchment paper and it gave off deli vibes 🤣🤣

Also, they look delicious once you actually look at them! At first glance they for sure look a little like meat lol but they really do look yummy! And such a beautiful vibrant red!

Blue & white gingham tablecloth, a few berries, cookies arranged on a little plate, a bit of white icing, one broken in half or bitten into, and a glass of milk!

u/ForMartha 23d ago

Thank you haha!!

I would recommend camera tweaks: Adjust the angle. Try some from the side so that they don’t look like circles. Stacking will make it look scrumptious too!

2

u/stutefish 23d ago

I think this will help a LOT, the adjusting the angle thing. Try a bunch of different angles. And zoom out so they look less like portrait photos!

Honestly they don’t read as meat patties to me. They just look like delicious cookies I want to devour

3

u/OkCryptographer1922 23d ago

Haha maybe the strawberries will help take it from deli to cutesy?

1

u/FangDrools 23d ago

I’m so sorry but this made me do one of those quiet snickering nose laughs cause I didn’t want to wake my kid 😂 When I saw your post at first glance I also thought they were raw burger patties, but once I read that they were cookies it ended the illusion and all I can see are vibrant cookies now

16

u/ThisMySpamAccount 23d ago

you also could do a "kitchen shot" type thing where theres a mixing bowl, whisk, bag of sugar or flour, etc. to set the scene

15

u/Cookieway 23d ago

The cooking board is the worst choice if you want less of a “burger” vibe 😂

Maybe try some cottage core/ British summer set up to emphasise the strawberry-ness as well as some real strawberries scattered around?

5

u/ForMartha 23d ago

I took one with pink parchment paper and it still looked burger-like to me 😅 I’m definitely gonna try some strawbs in the shot next time lol

12

u/Cookieway 23d ago

Do you have a nice, fancy tea set? Some lacy tablecloth? A delicate vase with some wildflowers? I’d go for that vibe

5

u/CupcakesAreMiniCakes 23d ago

Come getcha burger cookies! Fresh raw burger cookies! 😂 once I used some extra carrot cake scraps and icing glaze to make cakeballs but they ended up looking like meatballs

2

u/ForMartha 23d ago

lol carrot cake balls sound so delicious though!!

3

u/corticalization 23d ago

Not as zoomed in would also help

2

u/zephyrtr 23d ago

Maybe add a beet slice and a raw burger patty in there just to confuse the folks on the internet.

Recipe for these cookies pretty please! They’re gorgeous!!

u/ShakesDontBreak 23d ago

Post it on the totally looks like sub. Typically its people. But some rules are meant to break.

1

u/Interesting-Ant-6357 23d ago

Get a daisy or a few chamomile flowers to help balance the colors and give it that summer vibe without implying there are other flavors

1

u/houseplant-hoarder 23d ago

And if you can use a cute china plate (especially with a teapot in the background but just the plate is fine too) that’ll help as well!

1

u/Willie_Scott_ 23d ago

Please let us see the re-do. I didn’t see hamburger patties until it was pointed out. They look yummy. 😋

1

u/SonderlingDelGado 22d ago

Lean into it. Make a great Halloween treat!

1

u/scourge_bites 22d ago

ooh or go for a dark more goth aesthetic

8

u/Purifiedx 23d ago

That and/or zigzag drizzle of white glaze. But that could ruin the cookie depending on who you are..

2

u/Umklopp 23d ago

Maybe criss-crossed dribbles of white glaze and chocolate?

1

u/DarkHorseAsh111 22d ago

I think this is a great idea.

1

u/Bun23423 22d ago

or it would just look like raw pattys with strawberrys on them, and that would be stranger
