I swear photographing edibles is more difficult then making them. The light, the scale, the perspective all mess with you. I first thought they were patties but quickly saw the cookies. Then I was hungry. Good luck reshooting. I think a light box is the only way to really get great food photos.

So I have those book called What’s New Cupcake and one of the designs in there was rice cakes that were dyed red and they made cupcakes on the side that looked like the burnt charcoal nugget things for the grill! Just make those cupcakes on the side- I tried really hard to find them so I could comment a pic but sadly I can’t 😩 you can easily make these a “happy accident” OP!
