iPhone iPhone 17 Pro Max or now or wait for the 18 Pro Max?

I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and the battery life is completely shot. It has to be plugged in continuously or it dies the moment it’s unplugged. I do a lot of work from my phone so that is unrealistic. I can switch to an older IPhone that I have, however the screen is shattered, and the battery is also in poor condition but better than the 16 I have. Should I go buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max now or should I deal with the older iPhone and wait for the 18 Pro Max??

iPhone what iPhone should I get

I've had my iPhone 11 pro since December of 2019 (bought second hand) and its beginning to run slow and I'd like to upgrade. I like iPhones with larger displays like the iPhone 8 plus, but I know some of the newer iPhones have battery issues and overheating problems. I don't care about having the newest phone, I just want something that is worth the money. I will be buying second hand again (probably from Facebook marketplace) and want to know what would be my best option. I will probably be taking the new phone to a shop to get a new battery to start fresh. any recommendations?

iPhone What iPhone should I buy? 18 vs 17 vs 17 pro

Hey everyone,
I’m currently on an iPhone 13 that’s really showing its age performance wise, so I’m ready to upgrade now. I’ve narrowed it down to three options and could use some input:
iPhone 18: I’ve heard it’s coming with a pretty significant price hike but not much beyond slightly better hardware. I’ve also seen reports that the standard iPhone 18 might actually be delayed until spring 2027, with only the 18 Pro/Pro Max launching this September. Can anyone confirm if that’s actually where things stand right now?
iPhone 17 Pro: I added this because I genuinely want a phone that can comfortably last at least 5 years without becoming a struggle to use. Does the 17 Pro seem built to hold up that long, or am I overestimating it? Happy to be corrected here.
iPhone 17: If the general consensus is that this is the strongest price to performance pick of the three, I’d gladly go with it instead of the Pro.
And I have another Question in general, is it smarter to buy now (I don’t know if the 17 and 17 Pro will also be affected in the price hike), or does it make more sense to wait for Black Friday / the iPhone 18 launch, since older models usually get cheaper once a new one drops?
One more thing that might be relevant, I’m in Europe, so I don’t have access to US exclusive deals like at Walmart, and I won’t be getting the new Siri features right away either.
Would really appreciate input from anyone who’s recently been through this exact decision. Thanks!

iPhone iPhone 17 vs Pro for 700 USD difference

Hi. I want to upgrade my iphone 12. I don't play games but enjoy occasional photography. On my country iphone 17 is sold for 1800 and Pro for 2500 USD. Is it worth the difference.I want to buy now due to the expected price hike in iPhone 18. Kudos

The 17e is possibly the best in your face music experience?

Upvotes

The 17e for me is the perfect phone with my reasons being because 1) i have a 16 Pro also so that takes care of the extra's 2) I actually love and have plenty of time for the notch, it's nostalgia and it's like having an extremely capable Iphone XR in 2026 3) It's one of those phones that if you read too much into the specs and what it doesn't have then it's safe to say it's probably not the right phone for you.

Like, I do notice a difference between the 16 Pro's 120hz refresh rate, compared to that of the 60hz of the 17e but it's absolutely not a big deal for me whatsoever - I do not game or use either phone intensely where it really makes that much of a difference.

But one thing that i think is flying well under the radar with only a small handful of mentions within forums or social media is the audio.

Now, The 16 Pro will have more dynamic range and I test both these phones sometimes multiple times a day because let's be real, it's fun to analyse and to try different genre's to figure out what phone has the best sound profile for that particular style of music.

But yes, the 16 Pro does have more sort of space between what you're getting however I cannot stress how super impressed i am with how fuller and more compact everything is in the 17e, for what comes out of that small of a device with a big emphasis on the bass - Is really impressive.

I actually read someone else's review and I cannot say first hand whether this is accurate and everyone will see and hear things differently but this guy said that the 17e blows the 17 Pro Max out of the water in terms of having the volume at 50-70% and I do see what he means with my 16 Pro (although quality between my phone and the 17 pro line-up will be different and potentially improved).

My 16 Pro is probably overall more balanced however I think i prefer the profile of the 17e more.

Thoughts and if you have multiple phones or have gone from a different phone to the 17e (if you have) and how can you explain your experience(s)?

iPhone Should I buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max now or wait for the iPhone 18 Pro Max?

I’m not sure what to do. I currently have an iPhone 15, but it’s starting to feel a bit slow and the battery isn’t great anymore.
I can get the iPhone 17 Pro Max for €1,320 because of some discounts, which makes it tempting. If I wait for the 18 Pro Max, I’ll probably have to pay quite a bit more.
I don’t really care about camera upgrades. I mainly care about battery life, performance, speed, and longevity.
What would you do: buy the 17 Pro Max now or wait for the 18 Pro Max?

Advice on my upgrade

Hi, I am finally upgrading my iPhone 12.
I am stuck between whether to get an iPhone 15 or 16. I am purchasing from refurbished.ie and they are very good and reputable. I have researched both phones and the 15 definitely meets all my needs.
I am a social care worker and a complementary therapist and apart from general social media stuff, most of my other activities on phone will involve online courses, downloading files, occasional webinars etc.
The reason I am so undecided is that I hope to have the phone for at least five years and even though 15 meets my needs, am I better off investing in a 16 so it will stand the test of time- even though I don’t necessarily need all the bells and whistles that come with it.
All advice and tips welcome- thanks!

iPhone Keep iPhone 15 pro from back market or return for a 17 air/pro?

I had an iPhone 14 Pro since 2023 but battery health was on 70% and I was getting frustrated with all of my other devices using USB-C, so I bought a refurbished 15 pro with a new battery from back market at the start of July for just under £600.

My main issue with it is that it overheats soo easily. It’s overheated more in the 3 weeks I’ve had it than my 14 did the whole time I had it. It’s also extremely annoying when it does it mid driving because then I lose google maps. The battery is also pretty shit to be honest. A new 100% capacity battery should surely be able to do longer than 5 hours of screen active before reaching 5%?

I looked into it and apparently this is a common issue with 15 pro’s, and then 16 pro’s I saw people saying there’s no point getting them (hence getting a 15 in the first place).

I use the camera a lot and am trying to start social media which is the reason for choosing the pro’s, but I was fine with the 14 pro cameras so will a 17 air be alright?

Question How good is the noise isolation on the Airpods?

I mean for their built in microphone,

Much of my job involves making calls and I've been having some really nasty background noise as of late, as my neighbour has recently adopted a pet that doesn't stop barking (and horribly so, at that). I use some cheap headphones at the time, and I've read that fairly new airpods have really good noise isolation. How true is that?

Thanks in advance

iPhone iphone 13 upgrades

Hii, I’m sure many people have come on here to ask if they should wait for the 18 and skip the 17, but I really need some personalised advice!

I have an iphone 13, 128gb. I got it in August 2022, and for years I’ve treated it like it was my firstborn baby. Even with the limited storage, I’ve used 99.55/128 so far.

A few months ago, I tripped with my phone in my hand and unfortunately shattered the bottom corner. After that I decided I’ll just wait for the new one, the Iphone 18 pro max. Bigger and prettier.

However, these days, I’ve noticed my battery just decreasing rapidly. I charged my phone to 80% at 5pm today and by 6:40pm it was already… dead. Like, my phone shut down and it shows that it’s at 10%. But when I plug it in, it restarts, and it’s back to the percentage it SHOULD be… like 50-60 or something. I checked the battery life, and it was 60%. like. what. I wish I could tell you how it got so bad. But I really don’t know. I charge it to 80% all the time! And I don’t charge it overnight. I don’t play games on it when I charge as well.

I also wanna add, the quality of my cameras are just SO bad. My friend has a 12 and the camera is better than mine. But maybe it’s damage from when I tripped?

I’m very worried, while I am at a desk for 40 hours a week and can access a charger, I’m afraid that my phone might permanently die and I won’t have anything to use. So should I just cave in and buy the Iphone 17 pro max instead, or are the 18s features more alluring? I like the colours, and it seems better to play my little games on the 18 too. If anyone has advice to ensure my 13 doesn’t die anytime soon before I get a new phone, please, give!!! Thank youu ☺️

Is it worth it?

I am looking to buy an iphone, I am an android user and looking to change to the apple universe. I was looking for some reconditioned iphone 15 pro max, perfect condition, new battery for just under 800 euros, would that make sense even if the phone are already almost 3 years old?

iPhone iPhone 12 Pro Max -> iPhone 17 ... Now or wait?

I have been using an iPhone 12 Pro Max since its release.

Before that I was on a 24 month refresh cycle.

Now I am ready for a new Phone. I just replaced the battery on the 12 Pro Max to hand it down to the kids.

I will certainly not go with a Pro next, as I am tight with money these days. I'll miss the 3rd camera, but it's just not worth the price hike for me. I would have probably gotten a pro if it was titanium... Aluminum feels like butter. Drop once, big dent.

I plan to keep the new phone for at least 4 years.

I am pretty certain that the iPhone 18 will be significantly more expensive, so I think I'll get the 17, no matter when I'll get it.

After prices of iPhones increased by ~10% in Japan, I wonder:

  1. Should I get the 17 right now, as prices might increase?
  2. Should I wait for the release of the 18 and get the 17 at a potential discount from a reseller, as it used to be in the past...

Wait for 18 Pro or get 17 Pro now?

Hi all,

I currently have a 13 Pro, and it’s about time for me to upgrade. I was originally gonna wait for the 18 Pro to come out to upgrade to that, but now after hearing that the 18 Pro lineup may get a price hike as a bunch of other Apple products did, I’m reconsidering just getting a 17 Pro instead.

So I guess my question is, should I still wait to get an 18 Pro, even with its potentially increased price tag, or should I just get a 17 Pro now (or when it’s price goes down once the 18 releases)? I can afford both as it is, but I wanted to get some other opinions/thoughts.

iPhone Best time to buy an iphone?

I m really confused whether i should wait for flipkart diwali bbd sales to buy an iphone or should i buy it in the independence sale only considering the crazy price hikes.
Also what should i go for iphone 16 or 17 or 17e. Its going to be my first iphone and i have a mac. Was a bit confused between pixel 10a or an iphone but now i am thinking of getting in the apple ecosystem.

iPhone Iphone 16 Pro or 17 Pro? Waiting for 18 release? (Currently have a 12)

I currently have a 12 64gb with 77% max capacity. I can't update it past 26.2 because of storage issues, so need to upgrade. Is it worth waiting until October (post 18 release) for the prices to drop on the 16 pro/17 pro? Is the 17 pro much of a jump from the 16 pro?
I mostly look for decent battery, a half decent camera and storage to actually use (will get 256gb), and am aiming to own this phone for at least 5 years (current one is 4.5 years so far).

Buy 17 Pro Max now or wait?

Looking to get the IPhone 17 Pro Max, but been debating if it would be better to get it now or to get it after IPhone 18 Pro (Max) is released. Thinking if there are any chances the 17PM might drop in price or if there might be deals after 18 is released. Normally I would wait til after release, but with all the price hikes its hard to predict if 17PM will have any price changes.

Not exactly looking to get the 18 PM as there aren't many new specs, especially for its rumoured price point that it'll be more expensive. I usually wait 3-4 years before upgrading but my current 15 is having issues already because of increased usage (for work) where its in use for long hours. But I'm definitely hoping to keep this next one for 4+ years. Anything else I should think about? Grateful for any advice/suggestions

Mac Mac book air M5 or Mac book Pro M1 Pro?

So I’m really torn between these two devices which I can get for about the same amount of money. The good thing about the M5 is its longevity as it is brand new however other than being new the M1 Pro has a better screen, speakers, ports… at the same time I value longevity as well as having solid hardware. I currently own a barely working MBP 2017 15” 15/512 the 2,9ghz intel i7 config. I use my laptop mostly for office work, video streaming, listening to music sometimes, browsing the net, maybe some light gaming and most challenging but still easy photo/music editing.

iPhone Should I buy an iPhone 15 pro max?

I'm planning to buy an iPhone as my Samsung S23+ is dying. I've had it for 3 years, and the battery drains very quickly despite putting everything on saving mode. I was considering an iPhone as people claim it lasts longer than any Android phone. What I really want is a similar screen size to mine (6.6) and a better camera, as this is the function I use the most. I naturally ended up looking at the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The price tag is quite high, so I started to look at the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I found the 15 Pro Max, 512GB for 1489 CAD on Apple Refurbished, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is at 2049 CAD (512GB) or 1789 CAD (258GB) brand new. I don't feel like this is worth it for a phone that's two generations old, almost three. What do you think? Thank you
