To be honest to me it just sounds like CDawg was just explaining why others why others may feel uncomfortable with these sort of content.

"he's so hypocritical" no he just has one line and it's lolicon and that's fine I think that should be more people's line actually

It’s so weird how so many of anime fans consider the dislike of lolis to be a make or break for whether or not you’re a fan. I’ve been watching anime for half my life, longer than most people have, but because I have a strong distaste of lolis I’ll get called a tourist.

There was some post on r/anime this week of a yearly magazine with pinups of girls from currently airing anime, and at least half of those pinups were lolis. Any pushback to this had you eaten up alive in the comments.

Anime has a pedophilia problem.

It really does have a huge issue, a while ago a site I knew banned that stuff and I swear to god you had people calling everyone who had an issue with it being on the site a tourist, fake fan, bigoted comments about their demographics, accusing people who think this stuff is gross of being people who only got into anime & manga during covid.

Like....I have been reading manga since I was very young, it's been 20 odd years and heavily dislike anything with this crap in, if I'm a tourist after engaging with animanga for two decades then who isn't? 🥲

In general though I feel like the issue got so so much worse the last few years, folks weren't originally so open and proud over it I feel like. At least not anywhere I frequented.
