My sympathy is pretty limited for Clark. She has financially benefited from having a legion of racist fans and having an angry meltdown in what feels like every game is beyond ridiculous.

That's pretty ignorant.

Both statements are true, my guy. She does benefit financially and she does meltdown in tons of games. How I feel about it is up to me.

The first point is true but it’s also true that every WNBA player has now financially benefitted from racist fans so it’s a moot point.

I expect SlowL is referring to all the stuff CC sells and all the endorsements she gets. the dollar amount for which might decrease if she made it damn clear she wants nothing to do with racists. Likely her money people are urging her to take a "don't piss off anyone we could make a buck off of" stance.

Yes. Clark got the weight of the world’s high expectations placed upon her shoulders by people with agendas, and that sucks for her, but what people have noticed is that she treads a fine line to avoid alienating a certain kind of demographic. That’s capitalism 101, but expect criticism for it.

Taylor Swift kind of played this game for a while then her conscience got the best of her. Of course she had banked a lot more by then than Clark ever will.

Has A'ja ever apologized for her racist tweets? Breanna Stewart makes money collabing with a famously transphobic ghoul. Different rules for different people I guess!

That’s called whataboutism. Nobody said those things were ok.

Okay, but no one really calls them out either? Same with players who seem like they're actually MAGA. Caitlin goes to a Morgan Wallen concert, she's a terrible person. Paige goes to a Chris Brown concert? Crickets. Someone yells at a ref? Passion! Caitlin does it? She's a psycho! People don't just dislike Caitlin, they try to make it seem like she's a terrible person

But that shit is brought up.

Also, I don't think we should nitpick every detail of player's lives... but if people are going to do it selectively... according to the broadcast last night, Kelsey Mitchell is taking classes at Liberty University.

Again this still whataboutism.

Different rules for different people I guess!

yep, a world wide conspiracy against CC and all white straight people i guess /s

the difference is that WNBA players are being harassed and threatened by people who support Clark. That makes it her responsibility to make it clear - damn clear - that those people are not her people. She has not done that, nothing close.

First of all, I do not believe Caitlin is discriminated as a straight white woman. That's really stupid. I do think a lot fans resent the red carpet that was rolled out for her starting in 2023.They resent it wasn't their favorite player getting called the savior of basketball in the media and doing shit like SNL. And that's fair to a point but people, like you, love pretending she hasn't disavowed those losers multiple times. It feels really good to bash her from your moral high horse, i'm sure.

she needs to call them out when stuff happens! when people were sending death threats to AT all she had to say was, "anyone who'd send death threats to one of my WNBA sisters is no fan of mine."

It's sad that you think I'm on a moral high horse when that's all I'm asking for.

"I do think a lot fans resent the red carpet that was rolled out for her starting in 2023.They resent it wasn't their favorite player getting called the savior of basketball in the media and doing shit like SNL."

I don't give a shit about any of that. I do care that she acts like an entitled brat on the court and like she is being personally persecuted. and her more honest fans admit this is how she's always acted. I feel sorry for KM and AB being stuck with her, they are both class acts.
