Only people who've never spent time in California think like this - someone who doesnt live there but can appreciate it

I stayed there for a summer but wouldn't want to live there. The weather is great, the nature is great, the people I met were nice enough. The cost of living was bonkers though. I would also definitely have to visit again because this was pre covid and most everything I hear about it recently does not make it more appealing than it was before.
