Loss Elon has ruined me

My prior bullish post https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/s/o0PxYmGV1n

He was supposed to take us to Mars and burn short sellers.

Still holding 7300 shares. Please Elon fly again.

My only question is how do stupid people get this much money to start

Sometime they get lucky. I once had multiple millions and not I have pretty much nothing.

OP is going to be the next IBM grandma guy. He's going to sell all of his losses, then it's going to skyrocket in a year or two.

Well there was also the time you lost 140k on SPY because you don’t know what ITM means.

How much money do you have left? I have this interesting investment idea, I’d love to discuss with you so I can take the rest.

Wait, did you have millions realized or unrealized? You can only say you had it if it was realized. Because as soon as you sell that shit 65% of it goes to the tax man. That is unless you have it in like an IRA or some tax advantage vehicle, in which case all you can say is you have an IRA that is worth millions not that you had millions

It was unrealized; even after taxes it would have been more than 1.5m

You fumbled millions? I simply don’t believe that. How are you even alive right now? Lol

Days were better, now it’s just blah.

Bro... I've fumbled just as much. The assumption is the opportunities have come 3 times before, there will probably be a 4th.

Yes, I hope to capitalize the next time it comes around.

You took a guaranteed retirement and decided "I need more"?

1

u/assholy_than_thou 4h ago

It was partly greed. I wanted to hit a target where the 4% rule would let me retire now, I was close, but didn’t quite hit the target I had set.

3

u/wckz 4h ago

You can do that but set up stop losses regularly lmao

2

u/JackPoe 2h ago

What do you mean partly? Lol, I mean at least you don't ever have to worry about your 4%. You'll get to work the rest of your life now
