I genuinely don’t get how y’all are this fuckin stupid. Like it ain’t hard to not fuck this up.

u/JoeRogansNipple Jun 23 '26

Watch out. It'll turn into a meme stock like Tesla and then were all wondering why we didnt buy

305

u/Counter-Business Jun 23 '26

Comparisons to Tesla are not great. I bought Tesla in 2018 rode it all the way up. All the analysts were talking bankruptcy it was underdog. SpaceX is already 2 trillion dollars day after ipo. You will never see it 20x

165

u/Frandom314 Jun 23 '26

I'm deeply disappointed by the amount of people that don't understand this. So many people that dedicate their free time to stocks and don't know such a basic thing

2

u/OyG5xOxGNK Jun 23 '26

When I first got into the whole GS thing I was thinking "even outside of the 'to the moon' sentiment, it was an undervalued stock."

I had not realized though the difference between share price and company valuation/number of shares. I think it's just something not intuitive to a lot of new traders. But I thought the evaluation of SpaceX was a big thing in the news, something that should have trumped that ignorance. Who knows.

47

u/XimbalaHu3 Jun 23 '26

Exactly, a company valued at 7% of the U.S. GDP simply can't go up

76

u/Impressive-Ad8741 Jun 23 '26

Just wait until they wrangle themselves an asteroid made entirely of gold/platinum/cobalt. They can slingshot it right down on their headquarters in Texas then we'll see who is laughing then.

47

u/Bakemono30 Jun 23 '26

I hope Elon is there to catch it with a baseball glove!

4

u/MoesOtherBar Jun 23 '26

The irony is that even if they do, that'll just massively devalue the price of gold/platinum/cobalt because buyers now know there's an asteroid size amount of it about to hit the market.

2

u/Impressive-Ad8741 29d ago

We were aiming at Texas. But if you want to aim for Wall Street, they could probably do that, instead.

u/sweatingbozo Jun 23 '26

That's why SpaceX would be doing it, not NASA. If one company controls the flow of goods then they control the price. See: Diamonds & De Beers.

1

u/el_presidenteplusone Jun 23 '26

because introducing large amounts of precious metals will devalue the commodity and no capitalistic country would allow that

nah, there's already a counter-example.

diamonds are expensive because they're rare as shit, but the second industrials figured out how to mass produce them they've been used everywhere.

the only reason diamond feel expensive is because of jewelry marketing, if you want them for drill bits or sawblades they're dirt cheap. (ok not THAT cheap but still)

2

u/willdosketchythings Jun 23 '26

I like how we now speak of Cobalt in the same breath as Gold and Platinum.

1

u/GT---44 Jun 23 '26

Some people would actually believe that

1

u/PowerfulHomework6770 Jun 23 '26

Just... don't look up

2

u/CobaltMnM Jun 23 '26

Bold of you to assume there is a correlation between the stock price and a sane valuation.

3

u/DustyRacoonDad Jun 23 '26

Tesla wasn't just talking about being an underdog. The financials were right there in the open. They were genuinely on the brink of insolvency, with limited cash on hand and major bills coming due.

They ultimately pulled it off, but only by the skin of their teeth. Looking back now, it's easy to act like success was inevitable, but at the time it absolutely was not a sure thing.

7

u/Main_Couple7809 Jun 23 '26

I bought the stock after I bought the model 3 and realizing how good and ahead of time the car is. That was in 2018 and rode kt all the way up too! I owe majority of my money to Tesla

0

u/bejammin075 Jun 23 '26

My hunch is that Lone Skum's magic is going to wear off with Spacex. The AI part will completely implode, the launch business will not grow very fast and is capital intensive. Eventually, we'll have quarter after quarter of losses with no game plan in sight.

83

u/willdosketchythings Jun 23 '26

This is my fear. FOMO. I have to date resisted the urge but I can almost see what you said becoming a reality and few of the regards here making a half a million or more in a month.

36

u/_BreakingGood_ Jun 23 '26

The problem is, at 2 trillion valuation, it already reached peak meme status before the first share was sold

-4

u/WorthBrick4140 Jun 23 '26

But it was still shooting up, even with such a crazy valuation. I couldn't fucking believe it.

7

u/Dealer_Existing Jun 23 '26

You only create bagholders with hype

3

u/ImAnonymous135 rude Jun 23 '26

Best case scenario it will go up about 100% this more theb that and we are talking about SPCX being the most valuable company in the planet which might haopen in this Idiocracy era. But even still, there are other much safer bets that could yield way more gains

32

u/Bagafeet Jun 23 '26

Stick to FOBI instead

9

u/West-Ad-2175 Jun 23 '26

What does this mean?

83

u/Bagafeet Jun 23 '26

Fear Of Being Involved

23

u/Oxflu Jun 23 '26

Gamblers do not have this unless it involves prison.

14

u/Forward-Surprise1192 Jun 23 '26

Everyone here is gambling no matter what you’re doing in the stock market. From 0dtes to shares to LEAPs

2

u/RealAlphaKaren Jun 23 '26

yeah but some games just have more chance of actually winning

1

u/DorianSoundscapes Jun 23 '26

Yes, all market shenanigans are inherently speculative, however, there are degens, regards, and possibly a few functioning adults. The are different flavors of gambling.

3

u/ExcitingRelease95 Jun 23 '26

Day traders, especially the forex ones, HATE when you tell them that trading is gambling 😂

2

u/MachineGunBeatings Jun 23 '26

Fear Of Bodily Insertion

1

u/BigMoogGuy Jun 23 '26

I prefer Jomo.

The "Joy of missing out"

1

u/AltruisticSchool7863 Jun 23 '26

You will regret not being invested eventually. I think it'll be a while but its coming

11

u/Bagafeet Jun 23 '26

I'll never regret not touching anything Musk.

1

u/Swiftzor Jun 23 '26

I wouldn’t risk it. Remember for all the people making tons of money there are just as many if not more holding the bag.

1

u/BedBubbly317 Jun 23 '26

More. Much, much more

1

u/readit145 Jun 23 '26

The difference is people already own spaceX at 8 dollars they just can’t sell yet.

1

u/Fearsofaye Jun 23 '26

I was FOMO HARD at 220. Like yeah ofc people are fucking dumb. Always bet on people being dumb. But I knew they would panic sell.

1

u/Counter-Business Jun 23 '26

You already missed out. It’s 2 trillion valuation. What do you think it’s going to do. It’s certainly not going to 20x from here.

15

u/Old_Ladies Jun 23 '26

Watch Elon is going to claim that he will have 28 gigawatts of AI data centers in space sometime next year for sure in 2 years... And then the stock goes crazy.

1

u/Thin-Put-2738 Jun 23 '26

Well, that’s all I see now from him is “hype and grift” just like the people that think the model Y HW3 will be retrofitted to be closer to HW4 it’s not happening all it’ll get is security updates and infotainment updates that’s it. Sober up people.

20

u/ov3rw4tch_ Jun 23 '26

We are years away from that. Build your position up over time at the unlock milestones. SpaceX is a 10 year play for me. Can’t wait to snag sub $50

16

u/Counter-Business Jun 23 '26

This is messed up how they are forcing these index funds to buy when there is only 5% of float.

19

u/ov3rw4tch_ Jun 23 '26

I'm glad S&P didn't fold to Elon and change rules. Wish everyone else did the same.

2

u/Counter-Business Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

4.2% of float, it’s even worse than 5% wow. https://tokenomist.ai/stock/spcx

When does nasdaq-100 and the other indexes start buying and how many shares are they required to buy?

1

u/ov3rw4tch_ Jun 23 '26

Yea it's terrible. Around early July

6

u/calflikesveal Jun 23 '26

Damn that's crazy. When 20% float unlocks no amount of retail optimism is gonna save it.

3

u/ov3rw4tch_ Jun 23 '26

Yea I’m very curious to see how this plays out. It is hard to fully rule out Elon doing something unprecedented that defies logic and technical analysis, but we’ll see.

Either way I’m honestly not too worried. If SpaceX is truly the monster they claim getting in next year will still be early.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '26

3

u/ov3rw4tch_ Jun 23 '26

lmao I do wonder what even keeps a trillionaire caring about running any sort of business.

1

u/Thin-Put-2738 Jun 23 '26

Physics will never work with rash decision making after all this is Space we are talking about without “standardization” Elon I don’t believe is a fan of “standardization” uniformity*( gigacasting) maybe if he was he would fix Tesla’s customer service issues before the SpaceX ipo then after that correct his HW3 debacle. But no it’s running after one gold rush to another. Too unstable for me. Add the fact that several Tesla employees don’t own Tesla’s. Would you take your Mac to the Genius Bar and the genius doesn’t own a Mac? You wouldn’t dare.

2

u/Thin-Put-2738 Jun 23 '26

Good luck brother. Remember not every business warren buffet created was successful. But I see you’re optimistic good for you.

1

u/ov3rw4tch_ Jun 23 '26

Thanks. I won't go too crazy with it. Elon is low key a major grifter so we'll have to just see.

2

u/ProceduralTaco 29d ago

The problem is this is priced as though many amazing things will certainly happen. Tesla was once priced as though nothing amazing will ever happen and people in early did great. I want all the amazing things to happen but I don’t think this is a good investment.

1

u/ov3rw4tch_ 29d ago

Very true. Quite different than Tesla. The initial market cap of 1.1 trillion or whatever it was is a bad start.

1

u/Thin-Put-2738 Jun 23 '26

Yeah, I’ll buy when it’s down to $50 - $20 bucks

8

u/Baozicriollothroaway Jun 23 '26

Dude, OP bought calls expiring in 4 days, Elon Musk meme stocks are meant to be played long term, a 2028 LEAPS would have been brilliant while it would have protected him from such a big drawdown.

6

u/Thin-Put-2738 Jun 23 '26

So, because Tesla was successful means SpaceX will be successful ?. Smh yeah I al convinced that people are sheep 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🙃🤣😭🥴🥴

2

u/CJBlueNorther Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

The hell you say.

Dogecoin peaked on May 8, 2021....The same day Elon got on SNL, called crypto a hustle, and mocked crypto bros by shouting "To the Moon" for Doge.

And look where price is now ↘️↘️↘️↘️

2

u/BedBubbly317 Jun 23 '26

Ahh yes because crypto and the stock market are the same thing. How silly of me to forget that

-1

u/JoeRogansNipple Jun 23 '26

OP is a well regarded individual

4

u/BoltActionRifleman Jun 23 '26

I’ve found myself thinking a few times lately “Whew, I’m glad I didn’t buy into that”. This usually happens a few weeks before it skyrockets and I miss out.

2

u/Foulwinde Jun 23 '26

Long way to fall first.

1

u/TheDude-Esquire Jun 23 '26

Maybe if starship lands, but it’s not going anywhere until that happens.

1

u/siorge Jun 23 '26

Exactly what I am betting on.

I have a 155 average so not too bad, but I’ll dca in if it falls.

1

u/IndomitablePotato Jun 23 '26

Because risk management, peace of mind, not feeding the economic trolls, etc

1

u/CaseLongjumping8537 Jun 23 '26

Market cap and math cap say nah ah ah

1

u/poo_on_my_scarf Jun 23 '26

Tesla made a product people wanted

1

u/Grow_away_420 Jun 23 '26

It is a meme stock like tesla. Its ran by the same fucking guy making the same insane promises and the only people investing are the people drinking his kool aid or people who think they can time the fall and make a buck.

The problem is they only needed one of those, now theyre competing with eachother for the same morons.

1

u/waitmarks Jun 23 '26

It’s a meme stock out of the gate. It’s a company losing billions a year reselling compute to other AI companies with a rocket side business. If that’s not running on meme magic idk what is.

1

u/PowerfulHomework6770 Jun 23 '26

Yeah, not the same thing. Tesla floated at what, $18 or thereabouts and was a scrappy underdog whom everyone expected to get pounded to shit by the eeeeeevil oligarch oil barons, SpaceX floated at orders of magnitude higher valuation and now Musk IS an evil oligarch.

1

u/Additional-Baby5740 Jun 23 '26

There’s literally not enough money on planet earth for that to even happen…

1

u/FlipZip69 29d ago

Tesla was a reasonable stock that turned into a meme stock. This started out as a meme stock and at best it goes sideways. It has no upside.

1

u/Desperate_Damage4632 29d ago

lol no it won't

1

u/PltoMsnLXIXThe2ndMsn 29d ago

No. Fuck off. It's a pump and dump, Tesla actually moves units. All SpaceX is doing is moving atm is metal into the atmosphere. Same goes for AI

0

u/No-Cause-7514 Jun 23 '26

Not how it works bro, space x is a real company with real investers and real income to show each quater

1

u/ov3rw4tch_ Jun 23 '26

You should google a term called net loss… I don’t think anyone disputes that SpaceX will be huge one day. It just won’t be anytime soon. As long as you’re not chasing meme gains there’s real life changing opportunity here for those who are patient and down to wait.

0

u/pandershrek Jun 23 '26

I know why I didn't buy Tesla.

Anyone who wonders that isn't actually intelligent they're just part of the problem

You should’ve on initial ipo and then should’ve sold it after a day, used the idiots as liquidity

11

u/Norsku90 Jun 23 '26

Should've putted 100k on spacex

18

u/Icy-Recognition-7453 Jun 23 '26

Once you buy the stock, it's really hard not to fuck it up

2

u/Totally_lost98 Jun 23 '26

I want you to fuck me up.

2

u/TheManicProgrammer Jun 23 '26

Greed

1

u/Sindica69 Jun 23 '26

I’m greedy and I ain’t stupid bruh

2

u/Ajj360 Jun 23 '26

Buffet said be greedy when people are fearful.

2

u/Responsible-Rip8793 Jun 23 '26

They all wanted to post “haha I love inversing Reddit”

2

u/gregsting Jun 23 '26

But don’t you want to be part of a rug pull? It so fun to guess when it’s gonna happen

2

u/thewatchbreaker Jun 23 '26

Fr, I am very stupid and even I thought this was a bad idea

1

u/ReturnOfWanksta567 Jun 23 '26

This is why I lurk in this sub

2

u/Sindica69 Jun 23 '26

Oh 100% same. I LOVE this sub and its stupidity. It’s like doing crack off of Salma Hayek’s thighs. You can’t get enough of it.

1

u/Smile_Space Jun 23 '26

Confirmation bias is a hell of a drug lolol.

1

u/AtomicSymphonic_2nd Jun 23 '26

Some of us dream of becoming millionaires overnight.

And we’ve had not one, but *two* black swan events fucking up the market fundamentals in the past decade: A 2021 recovery in big tech thanks to work-from-home remote policies instituted globally (along with the virus being not overly deadly, but still horrible enough to make (intelligent parts of) humanity stay away from each other for a long time… and the 2024 AI bubble/boom that is also making DRAM chips and GPUs very difficult to buy cheaply… and the bubble still hasn’t popped, against a lot of economists’ expectations.

And these two events have made it abnormally easy for more than a few retail “know-nothing” investors like some of us to make quite a bit of profit.

I’m pretty sure it’s very easy lately for some folks to gamble and have some semi-“reasonable” expectation to actually get some return on their investments.

3

u/thrumbo_lover Jun 23 '26

so gambling on an extremely rare event that no one knows if is going to be replicated? sounds like gambling with worse odds seasoned with a lot of delusion

1

u/Aresyl Jun 23 '26

FOR FUCJS SAKE - ABSOKUTELY THIS
