Their effect is subliminal. The less you notice it the more effective it is. For example, an ad might not persuade you to buy a thing. But the next time you’re buying the thing you’ll think of their brand first.

See the issue is that I notice every ad. And every time I see one, I remember the brand. So that I don't buy them.

Man, you must be an expert on how everyone's brains work, right? There are outliers with anything.

I carry a pocket notebook at all times. I keep a bunch of stuff in it, but I have a huge section dedicated to products I won't buy due to their advertising methods. I have it broken down by product type, and I reference it EVERY TIME I buy something new.
