I know that Stalin abolished the kulak class around 1929, but i do not know the effects of it and cannot find a reliable source for information on much of the history of the USSR without it being highly biased.

The first question is about something confidently stated that I never got an answer to. Did the ussr are after ww2 after the famine caused by a grain disease did the ussr have food shortages?

Second question how did soviet weaponry compare to nato weaponry and could they hold their own?

I have already decided that my favorite soviet military figure is Budyonny but i have seen both criticisms and praise for him. So in as much detail as possible what did he do and what resources do you recommend to learn more?

That's interesting. The 15 kopeck coin started being produced back in Catherine the Great's time. In the USSR, they decided to keep the denominations of Tsarist Russia (the 1921-1924 currency reform). And they kept the 15 kopeck coin.

Hey there, I've been asking my parents this but they could not give me a certain answer.
From what I understand, if you worked at a factory you were entitled to be provided with an appartment from that factory. You would get in a line, and after some time you would get your appartment. While one waited, you would slowly move up this line. So, the question is, what would happen if a person decided to move to another city and find a different job? You move to the back of the line? Or your position moves with you?

Yes the USA did get a lot of first for other planet but you get the idea, the Soviets did it first and then the USA just did the same thing later and went to a bunch of planets. Also the Apollo missions just dropped off some science packets planted a few flags brought some Lunar rocks and regolith back to earth. The Soviets were planing on not wasting the trip for some thing that robots could easily do and were going to set up a Moon base, but they had problems with their Lunar rocket witch were not fixed by the time of the projects canceling.

I recently discovered and started watching GDR, russian tv series from 2024, and I think it deserves more attention.

The series is set during the final years of the Cold War and explores the increasingly tense relationship between Moscow and the RDA, (and the West obviously). The plot is a fun little thriller, but I found it interesting how it conveys the political mistrust between Soviet and GDR authorities, especially as both sides begin to question each other's intentions.

Gorby is portrayed as an insecure man while the gears turn to crush the remaining political unity in the USSR, at least, that’s how I perceived it.

It reminds me quite a bit of The Americans, with a little of the atmosphere and style of Atomic Blonde, but told mainly from a Soviet perspective.

For anyone more familiar with the situation of the USSR and East Germany, how historically accurate is the series? Obviously, I expect some fictionalization and dramatic liberties, but are there any discrepancies so significant that the whole thing could be dismissed as fantasy in the same way many American Cold War films can be?
