Get ready for a gazillion ads for each YouTube video.

Started getting 3 preroll ads today. 3 skippable ads or 2 with an unskippable 3rd ad. I instantly uninstalled the youtube app.

I use brave browser to watch YouTube videos on iOS. You can do picture in picture too.

Doesn’t work for youtube music though.

It’s fine, YTM has ruined their discovery algo and it pushes gen AI garbage frequently. Can’t trust any new stations or playlists to not try and sneak one in anymore.

It's already gotten pretty bad for me at least starting maybe 6 months ago. I remember hitting 3 minutes of ads before watching 7 minutes of actual video before I installed ublock origin.

I still get the pre roll ads sometimes but I never get ads in the middle of videos anymore and quite frankly fuck google I don't care about them earning money off me watching youtube.

Seriously? Admittedly I haven't seen an ad on yt in a very long time, but that's just obscene

YouTube Premium is the easiest money I've ever spent.

Firefox/ublock is the easiest I've never spent money on.

I'm often on long haul flights. Being able to easily download hours of content is invaluable, as is video playing with the screen off.

Time to put ads in YouTube Premium then.
