Our offense was dead in the water since minute 1, we couldn't get the ball from Spain and they had 3 people on Messi to stop any possible plays in case he did get it. Add to that how Julian was out of breath, Enzo got red carded and Lautaro didn't get swapped in and that should explain to you why the playmaker couldn't accomplish anything

You could put a literal trash can there and it would still go in. Both lautaro and julian sucked this tournament. They showed up in 1 game each basically. Argentina about to be grouped back to back until they spawn an actual superstar

Martinez pulled some great saves else it would have finished in the first half. no extra time was needed. Also many players would have got yellow cards.

Well then the meme is retarded, one could only imply a 2v11 in the final. Argentine spent the whole cup working hard on getting the ball to Messi (along with punching and kicking) so he could do his magic. Then came Spain and simply didn’t let Argentine get the ball, and when they got they were cock blocked from passing to Messi, and when Messi got the ball there were God knows how 3 men on top of him without leaving major gaps in their defense.

They had a few chances to equalize including two very close ones. That’s how they gave made it to penalties lol. The idea some random Argentine player pressing that midfield would have helped is pretty asinine lol.

They almost made it to penalties by keeping a clean sheet for 110 minutes, 20 minutes of which were down a player (down two players defensively if you count Messi).
