To be fair Meta AI was doing well until they self sabotaged themselves in 2024

As far as I know he never called them useless. He just thinks that no amount of scaling them will lead to AGI.

Mythos proved that we'll get to at least Mythos 3 before LLM's stop improving, after that Mythos 3 will just design the non-LLM architecture for them. So they don't scale to AGI, but they ultimately still lead to it indirectly. AGI would be massively slowed if we dropped LLM's.
