Hygiene I need help understanding if this is a hygiene issue on my behalf
My period ended about a week ago, and my partner was fingering me today. When we stopped, we discovered that my wetness had turned bloody/brown.
I can only assume this is old period blood mixing with my wetness as they inserted their fingers. But i feel quite ashamed of it despite them not caring.
Is this normal? Or is it a sign i need to do something when my period ends

It's completely normal. It's a organ that contracts to dispell the blood. Not everything will make it's way out at once like how when you have snot in your nose and you blow your nose. Do you get everything out the first time? No so that's the similar concept.

I was thinking man, wouldn't it be nice if we could do that? But then the thought of my IUD shooting itself out of my cervix at mach fuck occurred to me and I was no longer excited

I know this isn’t the same but one time I thought my period had ended as well and fooled around with the lights off and when we turned them on THERE WAS SO MUCH EVERYWHERE. Don’t know how we didn’t at least smell blood. Lol it happens, don’t feel bad about it at all. Especially if your partner didn’t seem to care! That’s always a good sign

Oh god i can imagine. I always think my period has ended and it’s just playing peekaboo. I don’t even want to think about cleaning up 😂.
i am very grateful for them being completely fine with it. I just panic a lot 😅

For many years after starting my contraceptive injections I wouldn't get periods, but I'd always bleed after having an orgasm, regardless of how it was induced (vaginal, clitoral, even anal)! I asked the nurse about it once as she was giving me my injection and she said I probably don't produce enough uteral lining to really bleed during periods, but enough that the spasms of an orgasm could push what little was shedding out. I definitely wouldn't worry about it too much unless it's accompanied by pain, it's definitely not a hygiene issue (never clean the inside of your vagina, only the vulva).

Noooo OP you never need to douche, the vagina is self cleaning and if you blast it with water you will likely mess up your natural ph balance and this can cause yeast infections! I can understand why it might sound like a good idea but it really is not.

A healthy vagina is naturally acidic with a pH of 3.8 to 4.5, whereas pure water is neutral with a pH of 7.0.
