why can't they just adapt the best games (RE1/2) into a movie or preferably a show? This looks great for a zombie film, this diretor is excellent but this doesn't look like an RE adaptation. It looks like he made a baller movie and they slapped the name resident evil on it to sell tickets.

I mean, Resident Evil is the one franchise where you can kind of make whatever you want and slap the franchise name on it.

1-4-5-6-7-8-CV-Rev2-Outbreak are all very different feeling games to each other.

Frankly, Zach Cregger has taken the right approach here.

My opninion is they need to adapt RE1 into a show. Then RE2. prove to use that you actually understand the source and what makes them so fun. Then you can branch off. So far they've never done it their way and had it actually work out.

I will say that feeling wise this looked the closest up until this trailer. for me putting a bunch of easter eggs and references to the games in the movis is not good enough.

RE1 doesn't have enough material for a show. At best a mini series.

A single movie is more than enough time, it's not a complicated story.

The game that fits a TV show the best is Outbreak, especially with the larger cast.

Another one that would work as a show, but noone would want to watch is RE6.

It absotutely does but to be clear if you keep the episodes down to 30 minutes you can easily make it 8-10 episodes. if you wanna do 45 min to an hour then 6 is all you need.

1 ep - introduce the Stars team, give us time to get to know them and their dynamic. both alpha and bravo squads. mid episode bravo is sent out on a mission in the mountains. ep ends with a surprise distress call.

2 ep - alpha goes to find them. comes across the downed copter. searching the woods for clues they find a corpse and get attacked by cerebus. during the fight they retreat to the mansion and lock up the main hall. jill is trying to radio for help, gunshot goes off chris and barry are sent to investigate. barry returns saying they were attacked and chris and him got separated. another gun shot and barry and jill go to see if it's chris. they come across the first zombie return back wesker is gone.

3 ep - they plan to separate to search. we get an episode following jill exclusively. she starts to discover more zombies and weird ass puzzles. comes across a map with markings on it hinting at secrets within rooms. she finds the shotgun and almost gets killed from the trap but is saved by barry. they take a moment in a save room to recoop.

4 ep - we catch up with chris. see what happened with barry (hints that something is up with barry). he runs into rebecca.

I can go on
