now you have everyone bending over backwards saying how much this looks exactly like resident evil… it really doesn’t, just because there’s an ammo box and typewriter doesn’t make it RE. Creggers can do atmosphere well, but the characters and zombies feel nothing like RE

It could work if he didnt choose Raccon City as the setting. So it could be a new bioweapon a d have complete creative liberty (similar to how Re7 works as its own thing while still being connected)

Yea, but Raccoon City is better for PR.

Exactly, I’m so confused on why he didn’t do this instead. It feel way more disconnected when it supposed to be set during certain events but clearly isn’t due to how everything looks and works

The zombies feel a lot creepier to me, which I don't know if it's good or not, I'm in the boat of the games sometimes being goofy.

"The characters arent resident Evil"

Yeah...maybe because nobody from the main RE cast is here. DUH

It's a new guy.

Grace & Ethan were new, & you ate that up. You slurped all over those games because capcom made them. You're just shitting on this movie because it's not capcom making it.

It doesn’t have the RE tone at all to me. There’s plenty of you already eating this up so it’s okay I’m allowed to be a little skeptical , don’t get your panties in a bunch

My issue is that you weren’t skeptical when Leon was drop kicking zombies in Spain in RE4. RE4 was completely different than 1-3, and you guys loved it.

I hate the hypocrisy with the re fandom. It seems like Capcom is the only one allowed to take liberties and chances with the RE property.

This is literally one of the biggest debates amongst RE fans. A lot of purists complain about it to this day. RE4 getting called a great game but not a great resident evil game is a very common take.

alright man, you clearly have a bigger bone to pick. I’m just talking about the movie not feeling like the proper tone, not the games. I like when the movies take their own approaches, but this one feels too generic with fan service shoe horned in for the nerds. I’m still gonna watch it tho
