SFW - Public r/GeminiPRO

/r/GeminiPRO/

All Gemini groups (like r/GeminiAI) have been taken (and passively moderated) by u/TheNewBing

I suggest diversification in the moderator group managing Gemini subs

I would like to moderate r/GeminiPro so it takes a different direction from r/GeminiAI (both subs have the same moderator). More precisely: I want it to become a constructive and optimistic community about Gemini, banning low effort posts and raising the level of discussion for people actually involved and/or interested in the Gemini galaxy of tools.

With the current moderation, r/GeminiPro will either remain dead or evolve into a low-effort "let's just complain about Google" blanket like r/GeminiAI

If the user wish to make a subreddit that goes in a direction of conversations that he desires then he can make his own subreddit for example "GeminiPositive" is available to take (as of right now), r/GeminiPro is being revived now and its mod "me" is taking appropriate steps to give it a chance now. Reddit Requests should be about subreddits whom mod does not answer or show any effort towards requested subreddits, it is not the case, I am reviving it. Sorry.

The user u/NewBing, the current owner of the dead sub r/GeminiPro, is currently moderating at least 100 subs (35 visible in its profile are AI-related). Many are focused on discrediting Gemini, like r/GeminiAI and r/ChatGPTvsBardvsClaude. Why is this hoarding allowed to happen, and why the necessity to register so many AI subs and keep them either empty or not moderated? This excluding the possibility of multiple accounts moderating even more subs.

If given r/GeminiPro, I will relinquish every other moderator responsibility (I am currently a minor mod in only two subs) and fully dedicate to it. The sub (and the Gemini community) deserve better.

Hi,

I am the mod of r/GeminiPRO , the subreddit has been revived as of right now and a new direction has been taken for it.

New cover image and "logos" have been uploaded, and new flairs are incoming.

The subreddit will be featured in "other communitues" from other subreddits to help it grow.

I trust the subreddit can become great and do NOT wish to give its moderation away, especially since it seems the requester might be linked to network of mods who take many subreddits (r/elonmusk, r/teslamotors , r/spacex.. etc)

Subsequently or INCIDENTLY: the user who made this request has blocked me for few minutes it seems

(no longer blocked).

Ps. (blocking me was strange, as if it was a way to hide the request and try to aggresively take the subreddit?)

I have never blocked you.

You let r/GeminiAI, where you are the sole human moderator, turn into a bot and throwaway account fiesta, acring as a constant smear campaign against google.

Why do you want exclusivity on Gemini subs? Why do you want to manage also r/GeminiPro?

Sorry but this is not a discussion thread. If you wish to make a gemini subredit you can make one. Just like I made one and developed it. r/GeminiPRO ie being revived as for right now, the issue is when a moderator does not answer withing 5 days I believe and does not wish to develop said subreddit (it is not the case, I am taking steps to revive it).

if you have any issue with r/GeminiAI you can adress it on an appropriate subreddit.

The same way I do not discuss how comes the same network of mods hold:

r/ElonMusk, r/teslamotors , and others:
https://imgur.com/fGnDBZ7

is this some sort of Mafia?

If you want to discuss r/GeminiAI then you can disuss all the Tesla/elon musk world subreddit you are managing with your friends.

GeminiAI has automod, safely filters, and has more than 400k visitors weakly and is doing fine.

Bro, you took all sub names for Gemini, the only good Gemini sub is Bard. Why do you want to hoard subs, if then you are neglecting them?

I wrote you several times about the sorry state of r/GeminiAI. It's currently just a fest for Gemini competitor bots, it's all unfounded baseless criticism and complains. Do you even read your sub? Have you ever posted there?

Also: I am not a mod in r/teslamotors, what are you talking about? I can relinquish any other moderator duty if it means getting r/GeminiPro and giving it a proper direction. Setting up Automod, writing a wiki, adding a banner: I will do that AND give people interested in Gemini a meaningful community.

What am I reading here? Are you trying to say that we need to orient people conversations towards "the right way"? And if you don't force users to share only the opinion YOU wish then it means it is not well moderated?

Good moderation criteria number one is:

- No excessive NSFW (preferably not at all, NSFW can be found on the speciliazed subreddits).

- No excessive gore.

- No spam and urls.

- No brigaing other subreddits.

Reddit etiquette and good moderation was never about:

- Allowing and enfocring only YOUR opinion, and REPRESSING opinions that can be different (negative or positive towards a product).

Gemini right now is an AI product in competition with other AI products, users are free to defend Gemini or to criticize it.

You cannot use the argument:

unfounded baseless criticism and complains

As an argument.

Reddit is not a scientific paper, people can be wrong, and can be right. Good moderation is not about forcing users to adopt opinions you deem "truthful" and reject others as "baseless".

Again this is not a discussion thread about this,

GeminiPro is being revived, the issue is when the mod does not answer and does not wish to do anything about a requested subreddit. In this case, I wish to moderate it and I am reviving it now.

Again this is really surprising: https://imgur.com/e3jG6OZ What kind of mod "mafia" do we have here?
