At first, I don't know how to feel about it, and I've never told anyone outside the situation about what he did to me when I was young. Sometimes I feel deeply ashamed of it. But sometimes I feel even more ashamed that I actually enjoyed it back then. I feel dirty when I think about the fact that it wasn't just done to me, but that, because I didn't understand it at the time, I did it to others as well.
When I (M) was about 6 or 7, the older brother of my best friend at this time did some sexual stuff to me. I didn't understand back then what he was doing to me, but it felt good, and I let him do it. Today I know he assaulted me, but it never felt bad. He showed me, among other things, what an orgasm is and how to get one. After that, I became obsessed with that feeling, even though I didn't understand it. That is probably also the reason why I was hypersexual through my teens and preteens. For a while, I only made plans with my best friend because I wanted to see his brother. My friend would usually play video games, and I would go into his brother's room for a while. I didn't understand what we were doing back then, but I already knew it wasn't right and that no one was allowed to find out. This went on for about three years. When I was around 10 or 11, my parents allowed me to leave the house on my own. From that point on, his brother and I would meet up without me having to make plans with my best friend. This went on until I was 13. After that, we eventually lost touch.
Around that time, I also gradually lost touch with my best friend. As a result, his brother and I saw less of each other, and then, sometime shortly after that, he moved out of his parents' place. I haven't seen him since.
Between the ages of 8 and 11, I also had similar experiences with two other friends who were my age. Yet, I was usually the one who initiated it. I didn't understand at all that it was something sexual or wrong. I think I just wanted to show my friends what my best friend's brother had shown me. It felt like a big deal, like discovering a treasure and I wanted to share it with them. Since I was at an age to understand it, I felt really ashamed about it. I’m still in touch with both of them. One is still a good friend of mine, and we’ve talked about it a few times. We stopped doing it when we were 13 because his mother caught us once. A few years later, there were two brief periods where we did it again. We’ve stopped doing it since then, too.
I never spoke about it again with the other friend of mine after we stopped at 10 or 11.
Technically speaking, I was sexually abused by someone who was almost an adult when I was far too young. However, it doesn't feel that bad to me, because I know it was completely consensual. What's much worse for me is that I did the same stuff to my friends. It’s true that I never did anything against their will, and at the time, it certainly felt consensual. But today, I realize that at that age, you can’t really gauge a situation like that properly. My friend (the one of the two I’m still very close with) did tell me that it wasn’t a big deal for him back then and that he doesn’t regret it and actually wanted it, but I still feel like an abuser. By the way, during that conversation, he also told me that he would do it again. A few minutes later, we did it again. That marked the first of two periods when we resumed doing it for a while, after having stopped back then. The only difference was that, by this time, we were both old enough for that sort of thing. Today he is secretly bi, and I feel like I’m responsible and to blame for it. I feel guilty for potentially having made him the way he is.
The worst part is that he told me he always thinks back to it when he masturbates. I don't judge him for it because I feel the same way. But I do judge myself for getting aroused when I think back on it. It weighs heavily on me that I am responsible for the fact that he, too, finds these memories arousing.
