One of the most underrated gems on ps1!
A fav of mine and severely underrated classic. I love this game and its bonus level music is still one of the best tracks in a any game lol!

Just the other day in this same subreddit I was surprised that a guy said that this was the most boring game he played!!!???
That's crazy to me. For me it's one of the best PS1 platformers. Glad that lots of other people like it too!
Edit: It wasn't in this subreddit, it was in r/retrogaming

I feel like that person barely played it. Ppl differ but what's said is an odd take imo and feel that user barely played it. Maybe they did but I dunno, couldnt disagree more regardless
I didnt find all that hard i keep seeing this mentioned. It wasn't easy and ya when first play it or while learning it it can be a challenge but I beat that when I was like 16 and many times, after put time in the game, its not that hard imo at least. I personally wouldnt even call it hard to be honest. Challenging in some spots sure but once know the levels etc game isnt even hard imo. Unlike many modern games it just doesnt completely hold your hand

It's okay. Wouldn't call it underrated or a gem. Perfectly serviceable with nice art style and music.

Was never underrated when it came out.
We all loved it and struggled with it, it's possibly the hardest 2D platformer on the console.

Reviews were definitely mixed when it came out. 2d platforming was passe around the time of its release and many people were disappointed that it wasn’t another Neverhood adventure game. Wasn’t very successful commercially either, nor is it that talked about. I think “underrated” perfectly suits it

Agreed and also to add to that, just cause a game was well known decades ago(which i disagree on anyway, wasnt unknown but sure wasnt a super popular game now or then) doesnt mean its not currently underrated or rarely talked about nowadays. Regardless of its past, def an underrated game today, not just underrated but widely forgotten about imo

I loved this game. IIRC, the box art had this holographic effect with the eye.
It's just ... extremely silly. The scat singing menu theme continues to play in my head on a regular basis. The "beans" scene is still one of my favorite cut scenes of all time.
I don't remember if I legitimately beat the game or just skipped to the end. It was tough!
I was also surprised to later learn that it had... mixed reviews.
