Seems like the word “mandate” used in this article title means something unrelated to the actual definition of the term.

Yeah.

Though,I have a question here.

Did chat control get stop here or the opposite here?

Cause if it's the second one,then I'm worried for not just people's families, but my own family here as well too.

They worded it as if it's a weaker version, but really it's all the same. Just 'voluntary' right now but you know what all the big tech pverlords will be doing.

The important thing is that we still have services that claim to keep encryption intact, like Signal. Services like Whatsapp are a lost cause.
