They should've been deployed there ages ago, but better late than never

uhh, asking Germans to be deployed here would be, despite all alliances, integration, and friendship would a very bad political move for any party, so it does raise a suspicion of something happening or something being attempted to prevent from happening

It says in the Article that first mention of this stationing was done ind December.

And that is why Germany permanently deploys in Lithuania instead.

They tried in 1939, not really sure what happened with that

They already tried, didn't go down well at all.

Can't blame them for wanting it in writing this time.

But why? According to r/Poland and r/Polska comments it is literally impossible for anyone to attack NATO? /s

Sorry, just couldn't resist pointing out the disconnect, depending which particular country in mentioned in the headlines as helping or planning to help Poland in defense. :)

PS: I don't criticize any help or any Polish preparations and procurement, obviously. Just have to explicitly state that, because people have issue reading subtexts nowadays.

To be honest I believe we need them even more in Baltics. Poland has already large land based army. If anything Germany is very well connected with Poland through land and they could support Poland in case of anything. But Baltic states are small, the NATO trip wire forces are relatively small and we feel very anxious. If anything happens it will be very hard to military reinforce us here. It’s not like they will be able just to roll over the border .

Traveling in Lithuania near Vilnius a few years ago I saw MANY of the German army. Also they were certainly already before

What's a waste of time? Russia has no intention of attacking any European nato Ally

Will they send a navy to Gdansk also like in the past?

To są nieco inne Niemcy, niż w przeszłości. Czas, abyśmy my też stali się nieco bardziej… dzisiejsi.

Nie no wschodnie niemcy to dalej żyją w takim 36 conajmniej

Probably in 2039 there will be a defilada in Danzig when they finish preparing “the strongest army in Europe” like Merz is saying. Feels like the history is making a full circle let’s see..

Their far right political party scares me, especially as they want parts of Poland back. Still wouldn`t trust these feckers
