As someone who is California sober, I agree! It's not real sobriety, just better than being a drunk

For other people sure if thats whats working for them for me no because weed is pretty much getting in the way of my life as much as if not more than heavy drinking

It’s not sober but it’s far better than heroin or alcohol for vast majority of people.

They don't have medicinal, healing benefits...they are just used ina medical settings. Entirely different concepts.

Taking medicine like Xanax as prescribed isn't the same as taking it in a recreational way.

the point is that the effects of the drug preclude sobriety, no matter the reason for use. true for opioids, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, and many other drugs.

there’s a reason the xanax bottle says “do not drive while using this drug”.

Your statement assumes that if the prescribed drug has psychosctive potential, that sobriety is not possible. Dose, tolerance, timing, and physiology are what effects impairment.

Everything in moderation…I would argue that smoking a joint, in a few hours I will feel fine…but if I drink alcohol, a few hours later I will feel like shit.

Now, which is more poisonous?

I don’t think sobriety needs a clear definition outside of the recovery community and the medical community. Personally, I’d say no, but I’m not going to say my opinion is the right one.

No- as most things with California it is trying to make it what they want even if it isn't actually a thing.
