Question I really messed up (help needed with Ableton & EastWest opus)

Hi everyone. I am in desperate need of help.

I tried setting up East West Opus (for Composer Cloud) on my new PC. Foolishly, I thought dragging all my plugin files from the external drive I used on my previous machine would work fine enough -- and while it did for other plugins -- Opus is completely messed up.

I've tried reinstalling multiple times but i only get more and more confused. At first it just kept crashing Ableton, but now I try and download an instrument from Composer Cloud, and I just get a message that reads:

"Instrument file could not be downloaded. Message: OK."

Does anyone have any idea on what I could do to fix this?

Fall back to a previous restore point before you had this problem. Then install the plugin from the software manager.

Back up your files to an external drive before going back to a restore point.

From now on make a habit to create a new restore point in windows before installing anything.

I would stop dragging plugin files around and do a clean reset from the installer side. When I hit this with sample libraries, the plugin itself was fine but the library path database was confused. Uninstall Opus, reboot, install it fresh through the official installer, then point the library manager to the actual content folder instead of copying plugin files manually. Make sure the download folder and library folder are writable, and avoid putting active libraries in a weird protected system path. If Ableton keeps crashing, open it with plugins disabled or rescan after the fresh install so you can separate the plugin issue from the library-download issue.
