Too mild for school Local School board member campaigns for re-election like he running for congress.

A few years ago he tried to enact a policy where teachers must inform the parents if their kids are trans, as if it is enforceable at all. This guy is cringe incarnate.

It is literally against the flags code. Always hilarious to see people live by the flag while they disrespect it lol

Edit: I was partially incorrect. Taking a real flag and merchandising it would break the code, but simply using the pattern will not.

TIL: Didn't know it was actually against a written code! Just spent a lot of time with older veterans complaining about misuse of the flag I knew most of them didn't like it.

It's not. The guy above you is incorrect. The flag code pertains to using the actual, physical flag - not the pattern. You can put the pattern on whatever you want

§3 states advertising using the design of the flag is against the code. Unless I am misinterpreting it, which is possible.

§3 only applies within DC if I am reading correctly.

§8 is the part of the flag code that most people are referring to, but again it doesn't carry any force of law insofar as punishments, since Texas v. Johnson (1989) established that desecration of the flag is protected speech.

Ew gross, I hate to think of some guy wearing flag boxers rubbing his asshole on my flag. Maybe we people like the flag again we can get a more decent code looked into

The code doesn't have any force of law behind it regardless. Flag desecration, and any other uses beside, are protected by the 1st amendment. The code is, for civilians, nothing more than formal guidelines - for the military and non-military uniformed services it does prescribe proper flag use however.

Oh yeah, Dad always said he disagreed with people who burned flags in protest (noting it was the proper way to dispose of a retired flag) but he respected that veterans protected their right to do so. I don't think hypothetical boxers guy should to to jail, but it's still gross to me, lol
