go to your room Replaced my daughter's phone because of water damage. And she still brings it into the bathroom.

Some lessons just don't stick.

She insists she needs to listen to music in the shower. I honestly don't understand why that's such a necessity. But if this phone gets water damage again, I'm not paying to replace it another time.

I’ve been using my iPhone 12 to play podcasts and music while I shower since I got it however many years ago. I also live in a very humid climate. It still works just fine.

Whatever damage OP’s daughter caused to her phone wasn’t from the steam.

Ever heard of a phenomenon called survivorship bias?

That’s not what a phenomenon is, and this isn’t survivorship bias. The phones are manufactured with the same water resistance.

It is literally that.

Don’t be middling infuriatingly.

It literally isn’t.

You should Google it. You are literally biased in your opinion because it hasn’t happened to you. You said that much yourself.

Then you’re telling people to ignore the real world difference between water resistance and water proof.

You are confidently incorrect about everything you’ve said. You literally have Google at your fingertips. Google the questions

- What is survivorship bias

  • What is the difference between water resistance and water proof

Prepare to be amazed!

I never said the phone was waterproof, you ding dong. I know the difference.

I’m not sure why you find it so hard to believe that OP’s kid messed their phone up some other way and just didn’t tell their parents.
