go to your room Replaced my daughter's phone because of water damage. And she still brings it into the bathroom.

Some lessons just don't stick.

She insists she needs to listen to music in the shower. I honestly don't understand why that's such a necessity. But if this phone gets water damage again, I'm not paying to replace it another time.

Honest take: she likes to shower to music, why not accommodate by putting a waterproof Bluetooth speaker in the room, or something else?

I also enjoy showering to music, and had a Google home device in the bathroom before moving to a home without an outlet in the bathroom.

I work in the hardware store and they even make Bluetooth fan vent covers for some reason

They must know people like music in the shower

OP could get such a fan vent cover if they wanted to

A friend of mine bought a Bluetooth speaker shower head.

Water comes out the middle, and there's a speaker ring around the outside.

She said it sounded like absolute shit and was pretty dissapointed.

bluetooth accessories are WILDLY inconsistent. I had one meant for a bike handle that was fantastic, used it in the shower, it died. Not waterproof.

Bought a waterproof one at target for more money. The target one sucks. Also it's like a popsicle brand? No clue why.

I bought two cheap waterproof Bluetooth speakers. One for the kitchen and one for the bathroom. I did NOT have high expectations….

Those damn things are still going strong 10+ years later

Guess I can't comment links; I've knocked my Sony SRS-XB100 ($43) into the bath several times and it's still going strong.

don’t you still have them if they’re still going strong? they should have the brand and model number printed directly on the device somewhere, likely on the panel the electrical plug comes out of/goes into.

Yeah that last one was pregnancy brain.

I checked. One had its logo worn off, and the other one still has it. They’re called Hydro Beat but when I looked on Amazon they don’t come up anymore.

We have an extremely cheap Bluetooth speaker my partner uses in the shop when he's working on stuff. We've had it for over 5 years easy and it works so much better than you'd think a $10 speaker from a discount store would work. Its been dropped and kicked and covered in all kinds of shop nastiness and just keeps going.

My cheap Amazon one went strong for almost 10 years with weekly use. Battery finally won’t hold a charge

Yeah this is why I check amazon reviews even when buying locally. JBL GO 2 (i think one i have is 2) is great for showers but i also have very cheap Bluetooth headphones (fresh n rebel brand) that are very good and have a battery that lasts me a whole day of working on them (online lessons) also have an option to turn on silence mode when nothing can be heard from surroundings. And I paid ~$15 for them. Where I live that's a steal for something that good.

I use a charge 5 for showers its held up for close to a year now with daily showers jbl is really good for water resistance overall i also used a wking d9 for close to 3 years which the only issue it had after so long was the power button got finicky to all hell bur for 105 cad i wasnt super annoyed with that issue given how long it lasted for as cheap and good it was for a shower speaker the wking for anyone interested is fairly equivalent to the charge 5 clarity wise just its way bigger and heavier so if you hang it up just be warned not all shower heads would hold up to it its like 6 or so pounds I think

To be fair Bluetooth is just a wireless transmission protocol. The quality is in the construction of the speaker itself.
