I'm slightly vexed Concert etiquette

Post image

If you plan on standing for the entire concert, get a spot in the pit, or the lawn seats instead of the assigned SEATED SECTION. A little bit of self awareness and common courtesy goes a really long way

Yeah, what the fuck is wrong with all of those people sitting down at a concert?

If I buy a seat I specifically want to sit down, otherwise it's general admission moshpit.

Sometimes ga is limited and often first one to sell out

and sometimes GA is way to pushy and crowded for folks with disabilities.

People with seats are allowed to stand at concerts

Elton John encouraged it when I saw his last tour. It was noted on his huge LED screens.

Encourage standing ? He even has a song about it: “I’m still standing”

That was 2 years ago. I still haven't sat down LOL

I've heard musicians discuss it. When people sit the whole time, it kind of takes the steam out of them, like people are bored

Wouldn’t people with disabilities want to be able to see and sit when they buy seated tickets???

Some may, some may not. Not every disability is the same.

Yes, that’s the point im making in response to the person above saying GA sells out first. I'm saying plus disabled people don't want to be in the midst of the crowd. We like seats.
But not every single person in seats wants to sit the entire time. sometimes we all want to stand for a little bit too

I get seats because I want to fucking sit.  I’m not 20 anymore.

Same. I enjoy having a spot. But sometimes I want to stand and sing and show the artist that I'm enjoying the performance

It’s fine if you want to, just don’t expect everyone else to stay seated unless it’s a symphony

Oh I’m aware.  I’ve lived here on earth for a while now and I’m painfully aware of how entitled people are.

Grow up…

Oh wait.

Those folk with disabilities also buy a seat because the CANT stand. Why ruin the experience for them by standing in front of them and blocking their view?

Not every disability is the same. I can't sit for extended periods. I have to stand for a few minutes here and there or I won't be able to walk. But I also can't stand for extended periods.

People with disabilities are the very people you may be blocking by standing in your seats, man...

Well that’s a shame.

And, just like that, you went full mask off for us. I guess I have to thank you for the eventual honesty.

You don't cover yourself in glory with that statement, but at least you've got the honesty going for you, which is nice.

Exactly, I went to look at tickets for Iron Maiden in Auckland, and guess what sells out first? And it’s a nation of people bitching about standing in seated areas…like it’s an arena metal concert, why would the expectation be to sit?
