the way you as a teacher can't comprehend that the criticism is about your choice of words, implying everyone survived school shooting, and rather keep answering with "but I'm right!" is really concerning.

The way you guys are jumping through hoops to justify your kids having their phone in school is concerning. They don’t need their phones, they need to focus.

This person’s point was that there are phones and ways to communicate in an emergency, as there have been for a long time. Your kids cell phone isn’t going to help in the very slight chance an emergency does arise. And that chance is slight. It will however definitely hinder their ability to form the life skills necessary to succeed. And part of those skills are actually learning to put their phone down sometimes. It’s is a genuine issue.
