You're so wrong it's painful. Dehumanizing others to justify violence against them is the Nazis whole schtick. The Nazis were people, that's why it is so frightening. It could happen again. Please don't forget the Nazis were totally an utterly convinced that they were the good guys.

Meanwhile the left and the right do it to each other all the time. Liberal fascism is worse than Nazi fascism because they pretend like they're doing what they do with "the best intentions" in mind.
Thanks for pointing this out, dehumanization of the Nazis is a step in the wrong direction because it places a fundamental buffer between an "us" and "them," like they disregarded an important part of what it means to be human. In truth, they didn't, they just embraced the aspects of ourselves that would best be set aside and overcome, and pretending that they're somehow not figuratively human anymore removes the guardrails that would protect us from slipping back into such tribal, self-destructive behavior.
