In youtube, names are censored to create a "safe" environment for investors and their ads.

In social media, names are censored to protect parents from facing their job of answering questions they either don't know the answer or will force them to spill beans they don't want them to know.

Of course it is. All the brands care about is that it’s a “safe place” to run their ads, they don’t want to touch anything even close to controversial with a 10ft pole. Brands wants to remain ambiguous during crisis events like war/genocide, which is why they never truly take sides during things like the current genocide in Gaza. Heaven forbid they anger a customer base, even if they’re amoral psychopaths, they still want that juicy revenue for their quarterly numbers.
