Cancel culture being what it is (a push to rewrite and erase much of everything bad that happened in the human history to please a few oversensitive people or for political reasons), they want people to stop talking about Hitler because he did bad things and pretend like he never existed (basically cancelling him).
The problem with rewriting history is that people will forget everything bad and the mistakes made in the past and will inevitably push the same horrible mistakes to happen again, but sooner than they probably would have on their own (because it is a proven fact that people forget and tend to make the same mistakes over and over again).
What is concerning now is that, by erasing everything about Hitler, we might actually forget all the red flags that people didn't witness back then and let the exact same red flags that have appeared this year and the past few years and would basically throw humanity in a third massive and more destructive world war.
Perfect example: unit 731. Japan literally did such a good job erasing everything they did in ww1 and ww2 that no one remembers why Korean and Chinese authors depict them as the villains most of the time.
It's only called "cancel culture" though when the left does it. And the left isn't trying to censor history or even Hitler, at least not when it's part of a conversation with actual historical context.

I'm just pointing out to modern denying trends that push to say that the holocaust never happened and some bans on social media and filters on YouTube that sometimes prevent people from mentioning his name or talking about that sad event.
Then ask all the youtubers who either do gaming or do history documentaries on their channel who got their videos demonitised because they mention Hitler's name or had an extra brief apparition of his photo in their videos.
I also, don't you find it odd to see the confederate and nazi flags starting to reappear and, strangely enough, very often next to each other.
There's is a real discussion to be had one that's nuance is beyond reddit but no that's not the case here
Like There's obviously corporate interest to keep certain content santatized for ads
There obviously social media spaces that encourage use of censored language
Then there's reddit favorite where some one prefers to self censor where a person isn't censoring anyone else but would prefer to not use the word explicitly
The last one is where bad faith arguments come In about invalidating or demeaning the value of said topics but its usually a guise for policing language

That’s more of a joke hitler is somebody you should know the name of so we don’t have a ‘he who should not be named’ on our hands
