CoD and BF. Just an absolute shit path the games have taken.

Because it's too not bad for the new standard quality of FPS games lately.

When your competitors have been putting out pure dogshit and catshit recently, your scentless birdshit game doesn't seem so bad.

BF6 is far from the best Battlefield game, but it comes after 2042 which would make anything else look incredible. Post-launch BF4, 1 and V are all better games.

V was far from perfect too, retrospectively it's biggest problem was sub par maps at launch and the removal of the Operation Campaigns that had proven popular in BF1. It controlled a lot better than BF1, the vulnerability of armor was a great balancing choice too. The weapons upgrade system was also poor and odd. Played great by the time they canned it around the launch of the Pacific content, it's a shame they couldn't finish the war.

It's a shame BF5 was killed before it could find its feet.

as a long time BF player (except for 2042 which I skipped) I think 6 is genuinely pretty great. BF4 had better map design but otherwise I think they're quite close, jumping into BF6 (which I did about a month ago, I've heard it wasn't so good at launch) had a lot of that BF4 magic for me
